I'm reading through other forums that the models showing high snowfall amounts are misreading temp profiles, so some of that moisture (probably half based on most estimates) ends up falling as rain.  It's odd, though, because they aren't showing QPF amounts and then translating that to snowfall, at least as much as I understand.  I just don't get why they are showing that much snow as "accumulated snowfall" if some of the QPF will be wasted as rain.

WWA for our area 2-4", I just wonder if the NWS will adjust that at all.  No idea what their thoughts are on this based on a lot of the models, including Canadian and I believe the Euro showing higher amounts.

Edit - could be a ratio issue, models outputting in 10:1 when really it would be 6:1 or 8:1.

I think NWS Pit is having a tough time too that is why they haven't updated yet. I am thinking a general 1-2 North Alleg Co. 2-3 in the South Hills and 3-5 for South of that. JMHO

They updated their forecast discussion so a new forecast should be coming shortly. They didn't give any specific amounts, but said the highest amounts will be south of I-70 which I think we all pretty much already knew.
