Pretty much everything still here south shore Nassau from light drizzle at times to some sleet to a couple wet flakes when it's heavier. Regardless it's just above freezing at the surface and the trees are beginning to drip NYC folks coming home to lo this evening I doubt this half inch makes it Going to be sad coming home tonight to bare ground. winterwarlock
People need lessons in determining light, mod and heave snow. Come on now. But in fairness to the people in Suffolk there is mod snow falling in places if the radar is correct agree with this...not just this storm but every storm it seems its always heavy to moderate or ripping when that's not the case. Bobby
It's actually simple to determine. I work In the Aviation industry. Visibilities of 1/2 mile or more is light snow. 1/2 a 1/4 mile Visibilities is moderate and under 1/4 mile is considered heavy. Fortunately we don't define "Ripping" or "Pouring" snow

In fact it's raining pretty good. At this rate the .5 is gone in a couple hours on the immediate south shore. Not complaining though I love the beach so it is what it is.
