jnis
Down to flurries now. Supposed to head out to Northern MoCo later this evening. Should be ok right? Rain still imminent? Yes, roads are wet here. We got about an inch in the shady areas and on the existing snow. It is really pretty here with snow coating all of the trees. Wonderdog
are the yellows and oranges that appear on the radar in southern virginia & North carolina moving eastward going to eventually be the energy that forms the secondary storm?
WinterWxLuvr
I'm closing in on your totals. Still snowing. Wonder what's in that cell coming up from Shenandoah Co ? Sleet ? That's my thinking. I think you end up with the higher totals from this. You'll stay colder longer and in the heavier precip.
Grothar of Herndon
37/31 I've been in precip hole all day. Like 7 snowflakes and 20 rain drops.
Bob Chill
are the yellows and oranges that appear on the radar in southern virginia & North carolina moving eastward going to eventually be the energy that forms the secondary storm? That is the secondary storm. It's strengthening as the primary is dying. Pretty much right on time
WinterWxLuvr
Probably according to dual pol. Mix line pushing north well now. Can the precip outrun the line?
mitchnick
new batch coming over me now is still snow to my surprise I think once the yellows get here, though, it's a different story

Pretty much right on time Looks like the precip out this way and west is dying with it. Better than rain I suppose.
Ian
Can the precip outrun the line?I think some of it is. Looks to be near Strasburg and Front Royal.
mitchnick
Can the precip outrun the line? if the OV low dies quicker than any model has suggested and the new one forms quicker and stronger than any model has shown, then yes I am refering to a substantial portion of it
Amped
NAM no turns blizz over to rain. His current temp is like 14f. It will be funny if it happens.

Seems every degree and every mile N and west are the ticket with this one. I am sticking with an 1" for the day even with moderate snow the past several hours. It is now mostly light sleet here. Temp back down to 33.2 after a high of 34.4. Today is one of those day I am missing my WV place where I am sure it stayed below freezing and probably 4" plus there?
