Mr. Windcredible!
Yeah look at the obs... Really neat as winds veered and the cold came right down the Quinnipiac valley. DomNH
Man how bad can it be over there? I mean I am already sitting at 4. I'm probably at 3ish right now. Was at 2.5'' like 40 minutes ago but it really hasn't been snowing that hard.

dendrite
Ageostrophic assist and some funneling in the valley there? Those pressure falls due south should be increasing the isallobaric component.
Stash
7" up here, with a few hours to go. I heard some reports of some sleet down in POU, but don't know how accurate it is. I figured we could hold off the IP most of the storm up here, but we'll see. Yeah nice to see Albany proper actually getting a good snowstorm also... I just measured an even 8 inches. Patfan1987
Looks to be a good burst and then a big lull coming up. Temps have been holding steady for a while at 16.4 1018.4mb
HIPPYVALLEY
wtf...Somerville? Anyone else in the area seeing that? I can see that happening in E. Somerville below Winter Hill. That whole area Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Arlington has countless micro climates.

weathafella
Just like 12/16/07, going on 8+ hours of E winds at BOS but snowing away. Never underestimate the value of antecedent fresh cold.
CT Rain
Those pressure falls due south should be increasing the isallobaric component. Yeah seems like it was enough. They can funnel winds from the N too.

Mr. Windcredible!
Boy that's not going to be good for HVN and ZR. Really think the surface torches as the back edge if the precip moves through...my guess is HVN spikes and goes to rain. But could be nasty just inland. CoastalWx
What do you think about that dry slut....making headway into ORH CO.. It may lighten up there for a bit, but that stuff to the south is regenerating and flying north. You also have redevelopment over echoes over ern MA with the cold air in place. ORH_wxman
Just like 12/16/07, going on 8+ hours of E winds at BOS but snowing away. Never underestimate the value of antecedent fresh cold. One of the most common mistakes in storm systems you'll see models make (and forecasters) is under estimating the power of true arctic highs to our north...they take a long time to over power.
