SP Posted December 15, 2013 Share Posted December 15, 2013 It's tough to say for sure because of the winds last night but we likely had 10-12 at the pocono cabin. There was brief sleet and ice but not much at 2100ft. Drifts were about 2ft on my side of the mt. We had upslope winds and a lot blew across. Light crust on trees and on top of snow. Current radar: Impressive Got to love the current report if IP/SN mix up there and 10.4F 10-12" of snow falling with temps in single digits i need that some day Current temp is 32F imby with a .2" ice encrusted postcard like landscape. Was amazing yesterday to watch surface temps dive all the way to 19* here during the height of the storm and to still have the change over to sleet and fz rn. Another thing that amazed me is that I'd say 80% of our snow accumulation came in a few hour period from about 4-7. It was absolutely coming down. Was out on my snowmobile and couldn't see my buddies after they got about 20-30 ft in front of me. I was so depressed when it changed over but then I reminded myself that it's only December and this is one heck of a start to the 13-14 winter season! As discussed with Isotherm, we both agree those Monmouth totals look a bit high and may be a case of double dipping new and existing snow. I measured 3.3" new and about 5" in the grass where an existing 1 to 2 remained. Of course, its a big county and we had some intense meso ahead of the fall line so anything was possible. JERSEYSNOWROB Posted December 16, 2013 Share Posted December 16, 2013 As discussed with Isotherm, we both agree those Monmouth totals look a bit high and may be a case of double dipping new and existing snow. I measured 3.3" new and about 5" in the grass where an existing 1 to 2 remained. Of course, its a big county and we had some intense meso ahead of the fall line so anything was possible. Quakertown needs snow Posted December 16, 2013 Share Posted December 16, 2013 4.0" snow 1" sleet with frz.rain top coat I shoveled the driveway as sleet started to mix in. Now I have a frozen driveway with sleet and frz.rain top coat. Should have waited till Sunday am to avoid the frozen stuff.
