DISCUSSION...RAPID PRESSURE FALLS ~6MB PER LAST 3H SIGNAL SECONDARY

CYCLOGENESIS WAS BEGINNING ALONG A STRONG COASTAL FRONT ACROSS
DELMARVA PENINSULA THIS EVENING. THE SFC LOW WILL INTENSIFY RAPIDLY
INTO COASTAL BOMB OVER THE NEXT 12H WITH THE CENTER OF THE LOW
FORECAST TO TRACK FROM DELAWARE BAY/CAPE MAY NJ TO BLOCK ISLAND
OVERNIGHT/EARLY SUNDAY. MASS ADJUSTMENTS RESULTING FROM STRONG
QG-FORCING FOR ASCENT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO PRONOUNCED INFLUX OF
ATLANTIC MOISTURE ACROSS THE NORTHEAST ON THE NOSE OF A 65-70KT
E-SELY LOW-LEVEL JET THROUGH 0900 UTC. HEAVIEST SNOW CAN BE
ANTICIPATED AS THE CORE OF THIS LOW-LEVEL JET...AND ACCOMPANYING
LARGE SCALE ASCENT...TRANSLATE NEWD FROM NY/NJ ACROSS NEW ENGLAND
OVERNIGHT.

VERY COLD SFC-BASED AIRMASS WAS ANCHORED ACROSS INTERIOR NY AND NEW
ENGLAND AND WILL INITIALLY CONTRIBUTE TO HIGH SNOW-LIQUID RATIOS
/SLRS/...PERHAPS AS HIGH AS 15-20:1. HOWEVER...RELATIVE WARMING AND
MOISTENING ABOVE THE SURFACE WILL PROBABLY SUPPORT A LOWERING TREND
TO ~10:1 SLRS PER LATEST NAM MAX SATURATED COLUMN TEMP. SNOWFALL
RATES GREATER THAN 1 INCH PER HOUR WILL BE MOST LIKELY ON THE
EAST/SOUTHEAST-FACING SLOPES OF THE CATSKILL/ADIRONDACK/GREEN AND
WHITE MOUNTAINS WHERE OROGRAPHIC ASCENT WILL BE MAXIMIZED AS
AFOREMENTIONED INTENSIFYING LOW-LEVEL JET SPREADS NEWD OVERNIGHT.

TIGHTENING LOW-LEVEL BAROCLINIC ZONE COINCIDENT WITH THE
INTENSIFYING SFC LOW FROM THE JERSEY SHORE NEWD WILL CONTRIBUTE TO A
NARROW PRECIPITATION TRANSITION ZONE THAT SHOULD SPREAD INLAND FROM
SERN NY ACROSS SERN NEW ENGLAND BETWEEN 0300 UTC AND 0900 UTC.
EXPECT PRIMARILY A MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET IN THIS TRANSITION ZONE
WITH FREEZING RAIN TO RAIN REMAINING CONFINED TO THE IMMEDIATE
COASTAL AREAS FROM LONG ISLAND TO SERN MA BETWEEN 0400-0900 UTC.
INTENSE MESOSCALE ASCENT ACROSS THE COASTAL FRONT COULD ALSO
CONTRIBUTE TO HIGH SNOWFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF AN INCH PER HOUR
DEVELOPING NEWD ON THE COLD/INLAND SIDE OF THIS BOUNDARY...FROM
INTERIOR SRN NEW ENGLAND TO COASTAL MAINE THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY
MORNING.

Yes I am...big flakes coming down now.  Probably a sign of the changeover soon.

Ripping in Metuchen - so cool out there.  I'm DJ-ing a party at Red Monk's, for a friend's 50th, so I can barely get any time to check the boards/radars.  Soundling like we still might not changeover for a few  more hours - would that get us to 5-6" here?  Allsnow - need your Edison reports, as nobody ever posts from Metuchen, lol...

I am 19.8 here in Middlesex on the Union County border 4.8 inches of snow - mod snow falling  winds picking up and blowing and drifting starting - NO snow at all on the tree limbs or power lines so any freezing rain will not weigh the trees down for quite a while - Garden State Parkway is moving in both directions at about 35 mph north of exit 131
