I think it is not out of the question for the NWS to upgrade to a Winter Storm Warning for New York City and portions of Long Island. Just my gut feeling and based on my experience. Surface low was always progged to go underneath us... it's the track of the 850 low that is important here, as well as the implications of early season/warm SSTs that will enable all levels to warm above freezing by 11 for the 5 boroughs.
