Isopycnic
This is kinda stupid. NW GA, East TN and NC mountains all kind of share the same weather as the SE forum. Is Asheville in this forum or the TN forum? I can see where a Mississippi Valley forum would be needed but a TN Valley forum?

tnweathernut
Evidently very few like change. Great to have a TN Valley thread. Now bring on the cold and storms.
John1122
The Tennessee Valley covers a very large weather area from SW VA to Alabama, S. Kentucky and Middle/West Tennessee. Weather often tends to be vastly different West of the Apps vs East of them. So I very much appreciate this forum. Thank you.
Stovepipe
What do y'all think about having an "Upcoming Events" type thread? It might be a nice catch-all for these little marginal events as oppose to making a bunch of dated event threads. Regardless, we need somewhere to talk about this weekend's flizzard. BNAwx
Kinda glad they did this. I know we're technically still in the "Southeast" but as someone said, weather on this side of the Apps can be pretty different than east of the Apps. I always get a little jealous of their CAD opportunities when all I can expect is a nice southerly wind with temps in the 40's and 50's.
franklin NCwx
Winter was cancelled in the se forum. Are we still having winter is this part of the world?
calculus1
Hey, is Arkansas considered part of the TN valley? That's where the winter's been so far. Snow and ice.
Wow
Hey, is Arkansas considered part of the TN valley? That's where the winter's been so far. Snow and ice. I'm considering adjusting the scope to be the TN/MS Valley region so we can include parts of Arkansas and LA. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Alan
I'm considering adjusting the scope to be the TN/MS Valley region so we can include parts of Arkansas and LA. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Can we please include extreme NW GA? I live in Dalton, GA and our local news based in Chattanooga TN has always said it's entire viewing area is in the TN Valley.
Carvers Gap
I'm considering adjusting the scope to be the TN/MS Valley region so we can include parts of Arkansas and LA. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Respectfully, Arkansas and LA does not make much sense. I would put LA in a GOM region. I think the TN Valley covers a good solid portion of the country and has a similar climate. West of the Big Muddy begins to encompass too much I think. Looks good as it is. Carvers Gap
Been cold by any season's standards the past three days. We have gone from +10 @ KTRI to just +4. That surely will be eaten into as the month passes. Minus four warm days, this month has not been warm. Anyway, got a fire in the fireplace. Nice place to be west of the Apps. Carvers Gap
As evidence the TN Valley isn't just someone's backyard, TVA states that its region(see the map above) serves 9,000,000 people. Link

Clarksville Snowman
I'm considering adjusting the scope to be the TN/MS Valley region so we can include parts of Arkansas and LA. What are everyone's thoughts on this? I think I would like for eastern arkansas and maybe even the boothill area of missouri to be included, for middle and west tenn our weather usually comes from that area. Just my 2 cents, anyway I love what you did here. it is hard to get a gauge on the southest forum as most are on the eastern side of the mountains where the weather can be totally different. The southeastern ridge can sometime benefit the tennessee valley area in some situations.
Carvers Gap
A friend of mine, actually from Alabama, sent me these from Jerusalem. He took the pics. tnweathernut
I would give a LOT of money for a 12-16 inch snow (during the day of course....lol). Unfortunately, we can't buy happiness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

tnweathernut
I kinda wonder if it's about to get quiet around here for a while, lol. Keep the faith. Even if it takes a month to shake things up, then that puts us in the heart of winter.
