In the past I've used correlation coefficient to determine the changeover line. It's been around for a year or so. It's actually quite useful and I've found it to be more accurate than most other vendors at times.

Sophisticated Skeptic
23.9 now in Lynbrook, temps are ticking a tenth of a degree downward every 20 minutes or so, no uptick at all. Had to edit...23.7 now 23.5 now Same thing happening here. Was up to 18.5 a couple hours ago....now down to 15.8 ! north-east PA.
sferic
On many occasion I've seen that rain snow line just off the south shore attempt to surge but is just held back, yes, other times it races across..just saying sometimes it doesn't

Don't be fooled though, the mid levels are warming. Also of interesting note, there is some serious frontogenesis occurring just offshore Sandy Hook. This could be lending to the more intense banding occurring in ENJ right now.

JetsPens87
Quite shocked here actually, been snowing all day light-moderate into 25-26 degree sfc temperatures. Thicknesses look good still and yet the snow growth and accumulations are terrible so far. Maybe a quarter inch (and that has mostly only been in the last two hours) AAMOF it's almost a snow/mist. Interesting.
