CoastalWx
The difference is noticeable much lower than that - probably around 450' around here. Besides, 1.5" more than 3" is 50% more than expected. I don't anyone who wouldn't take 50% more snow for free. Well congrats...better than I thought for the hill folk. CoastalWx
if you were at 1,000 feet how much do you reckon you would have had? Probably similar to you. Maybe a tad more since that last band went apesh*t apparently. You and I had similar QPF because the trajectory was from your fanny to mine...umm I mean my house. snowman21
temps were warm, snow melted on contact pretty much. Same with the shoreline. BDR and HVN both under 2, same as here. Guess that's what happens when it snows while temps are in the mid-30s.

CoastalWx
Then how did WeHa and surrounding areas get 2-3? Well last report at BDL was at 1pm so I'm sure more than 0.1 fell. Same with Enfield. But they also were north of the bands too.

Well I did give props to James a few pages back...I always give props when they are due. I appreciate the nice compliments..but I don't need a backpat....I don't role like that. I just tell it how it looks to me and if I'm right, then great. If not, that's ok as well. This is the nature of the business. This board is a great learning tool and you bet your azz that the combo of others like Ryan, Will, Phil, Tip etc are impossible to beat. Those guys are fantastic mets and I love being a part and talking weather with all of them. Even you enthusiasts. You guys make it fun as well...although a couple of people sometimes make my hair turn a premature grey.
