Well, leading up the event I would agree but this morning there were several calls for "jumping ship" with posts like 'this will be short lived', 'get out now while you can', 'flags', etc.  I think the calls leading to this morning were pretty good by all but it sounded like after a quick burst this morning it would be it but there were several non-mets that called for additional accumulations which i believe were met with "meh" posts.  It turned out to be the heaviest band of the day.

Well it was relatively short lived with any accumulations over 1-2" relagated to higher spots and within the best bands, so yeah....kind of meh.

it has a tendency to be wiggled into a AWT.....

all in all a good job by mets....this thing was not easy to forecast.

BL temps play'd more a role for some (S of the pike)  at lower elevations near the coast in CT, RI and parts of Mass  and this second band moving thru now, did not have the confidence of many this am.

Mets here sure did not jump on big totals and they did not occur....cept maybe SW CT prob gets 5-6 in spots near Waterbury /Naugatuck AOA 500'

Either hobbyists IMO r always lucky to have access to Mets like this, and their knowledge so as always thank you gentlemen

When was anyone calling for a 24 hour storm?  I guess I misread the posts this morning that heavily implied that this mornings band was it.  With regard to amounts, I believe that we had 1-2" reports in places with 50-200' of elevation and I wouldn't call that higher spots but perhaps that's just me.  The best bands had the best accumulations, that goes without saying.

happy i cancelled the edaville trip yesterday and rescheduled for this evening. should be great in the snow.

I want to do this with my son. Steam train + christmas Village sounds fun.

Moderate snow here thats, now starting to stick to car tops and roads, with the lowering sun angle helping accumulation to overcome marginal temps here in South Windsor.

Nobody said that..lol. And yes I did day the morning band would probably be it...this band developed nicely..better than I thought.

I accounted for the lower elevations by saying best banding because those amounts in the lower elevations occurred because of the banding.

Nobody was backpatting...just saying it's going as we thought or as most of us thought. I don't think anybody was implying " I told you so."

Yup it's funny, snow started sticking much better to cars now...mostly AFTER the band moved thru....due to the time of day....right around 245-250 ....I really think it is bc of this

Now obviously if we were pounding rates it would have accumulated all day, however if BL temps were 3-4 degrees cooler I would have my grass and everything would be covered at this point with the snow that was falling last 3 hours. I just want a white landscape dammit.

The lowering sun angle certainly helped the snow start to accumulate on the cars here at work. They have been wet since this morning, but are now turing white. Blacktop will be next with sunset.
