The heat seems to be winning out in the middle of the city, which isn't that surprising to me since we started out marginally cold. It's coming down pretty good but nothing sticking anywhere. It's coming down pretty good but nothing sticking anywhere. Its pretty amazing cause I live 1-2 miles from the city..and here started as snow..and its over 1 inch already. Very interesting There's a lot of mid level dry air north of the main batch of snow-I was concerned about this. Thinking it will change over pretty quickly but kudos to Upton for mentioning this in their forecast Yup, I lol'ed at Upton for mentioning rain but here in Midtown the snow is actually struggling to keep ahead of the rain trying to mix in. I'm sure it's a heat island thing but still frustrating to see rain and wet pavement when everyone else is accumulating. Hopefully the column continues to cool and the mixing ends soon. RU848789 Posted December 10, 2013 Share Posted December 10, 2013 It's ripping here in Rahway. From my window I'm guessing we have at least 1.5". Started snowing in Metuchen around 7:30 am (with temps 36F, which dropped quickly to 32F) and by the time I got to Rahway at 8:00 am it was coming down at least moderately and hasn't let up.
