CT Rain
12z NAM looks good for a few inches. About 0.3" in Hartford and as I mentioned snow growth looks great so 15:1 definitely possible.

NorEastermass128
haha. You'd rather the mets bring some livelihood and disagreement rather than just weenies vs mets...I could see that. However these guys are all good because they approach with caution...and will go gung-ho when warranted. Everyone has the same idea with this little system...could be a few inches of snow, but also could miss with best forcing. No one is going to throw out widespread 3-5" though I don't think. Unless you're Accuweather.

Clinch Leatherwood
all SNE or only SE mass? Most of the region. 34 combined pages for the turd burger of an event today..and this one flew right under the radar. Winter Storm James is almost upon us. jamesnichols1989
As someone said earlier, its the interaction between the two main shortwaves at play here that will determine the fate of our system tomorrow afternoon.
Bostonseminole
King James fTw. Thanks guys for the update, 1-2" here and then deep cold.... Nice
jamesnichols1989
I think a mesoband gets parked either just to our south or right over the south coast as the NAM has widespread 2-4" of snow for everyone south of the MA pike. If we get that meso band we get some great lift and we can snow well enough to see a few inches. Also with the wave strengthening as it passes by our longitude, it only means better news for us. NorEastermass128
King James fTw. Thanks guys for the update, 1-2" here and then deep cold.... NiceWintry appeal. Let's see what the other guidance has to say later.Any chance this is a situation where there is a heavier band right at the northern edge of the precip. Clinch Leatherwood
I worry about the same thing as Phil...a nasty band that's sitting on the beach or just off and not much on the far side. We'll see...the NAM is a nice 95 esque stocking stuffer.

Baroclinic Zone
It won't be a prolific QPF producer (sorry Pit), but the ingredients are there for a true solid advisory type storm for most if not all of SNE. Looks like right around 0.36" per NAM at TAN.

Its often a good idea to go lower on QPF with these fast moving events, the models usually overdo the amounts and then start to drop them a bit inside 24 hours
