CoastalWx
If this ticks a tad nw from here im getting outta dodge and going to n conway sat @ noon If people can just accept that this is more of a WAA thump...erase the jackpot fetishes and just enjoy some snow...then sanity may actually dominate. Alas, this is AmericanWx and the notion of this materializing is slim to none.

masonwoods
so you are worried about getting a good dumping of snow but not jackpotting? I was thinking the same thing. We shouldn't be so greedy this early in the season. Just enjoy!

Alas, this is AmericanWx and the notion of this materializing is slim to none. if we were sane, we wouldn't be here. but I agree though. I think a lot of us get caught up in wanting more and worrying about heaviest axis of qpf not eagle-eyeing our front door like an Amazon drone. powderfreak
Of course I want to jackpot but I just wonder how the snowgrowth looked for nne too From BTV... snow growth looks great and they've got 20-30:1 ratios, lol. THINKING STORM TOTAL QPF WL RANGE BTWN 0.20 AND 0.50" ACRS OUR CWA WITH HIGHEST VALUES ACRS THE SE UPSLOPE REGIONS. GIVEN THE VERY COLD THERMAL PROFILES EXPECTING VERY HIGH FLUFF FACTOR WITH RATIOS BTWN 20 AND 30 TO 1. THIS WL RESULT IN A GENERAL ADVISORY TYPE EVENT WITH SLIGHTLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ACRS SE VT ZNS. SOUNDINGS SHOW GOOD RH IN FAVORABLE SNOW GROWTH REGION...ALONG WITH SOME 850 TO 700MB OMEGA...WHICH WL HELP IN SNOW FLAKE PRODUCTION.

ROOSTA
Wondering if anyone would be up to a spontaneous gathering? The silence on the GFS is deafening and can only mean one of two things either jaw-dropping belief or disbelief? Early frames to me looked amped, what say thee... Alas, this is AmericanWx and the notion of this materializing is slim to none. I simply want the majority of the precip to fall as snow. I want a snow covered yard. What i dont want is to see 36f in wakefield mass sun at 2 am and have ray at 22 in S+ , while my 4" of Wwa washes down drain. That is just not acceptable to me which is why i would opt to go north sat and ski attitash sunday. Weenie me to death, lol i def dont need a stinkin jackpot, just most QPF (75)% or more being frozen and yard covered sun eve.

CoastalWx
Wow, mega lift. Even though it's closer, it's not really warmer...the big lift fights the warmth until the DS moves through. Almost unstable in the mid levels.
weatherwiz
With the exception of the coastal areas, the majority of the QPF is going to occur as snow...by the time any mixing would occur, the bulk of the heavier QPF would be gone so I don't think it really affects snowfall totals by all that much
