How about just leaving this forum then?

I'm not going anywhere, get used to it. I've been a member here since the website opened.

Cant you just tone down the posts? Its not like 1 or 2 have commented on how your posts come across. Im not asking you to leave, or stop posting, or any of that...just to tone it down a bit? Forky is right that people (myself included) often respond when we shouldnt...but that doesnt mean you arent at least partially guilty in leading the discussion away from where it should be. Just try not to take this so personally...i assure, at least from me, its not. Im just looking to get sound meteorological discussion from people who know a lot more than me.

I'm not the one suggesting that posters should be five posted.

Back on topic, the whole state of Florida is being hammered today.

I love severe thunderstorms (obviously not when it affects people's lives). The factors that go into producing these storms and the science behind it is amazing. Our main forum kills it when it comes to severe weather. I learn so much from reading their discussions.

Its perfectly fine & logical to root for a triple phaser. The last one we had was 21 years ago and nicknamed Storm of the century. So if we get the storm of Century next week as opposed to 2093 ( when none of us will be around) Im perfectly Ok with that : especially if it brings CPK a foot like its predecessor and ares NW 1-3 ft! Just fine with me!

Sure. A storm that killed more than 300 people and caused something north of $8 billion in damage is definitely something to be "perfectly Ok with".

Sometimes I really question some of the logic that is displayed, here.

Most of us are here as weather enthusiasts. We can't control what happens and we certainly feel bad for those affected. We don't have the same perspective as a members of the general public, at least most of us. For the most part the bigger and badder the storm the better.

Not going to play that game with you. Thats definition of trolling Obviously NO ONE wants any deaths in any storm. End of that element of the discussion

If you want to play the logic card then I'll counter with many weather deaths are avoidable. Certainly not all of them. If you pay attention to what's going on you should be safe. This includes tornado threats. Pay attention for warnings and get to safety. You shouldn't be out in winter storms to get stuck and freeze to death (like what can happen is more rural areas not so much our area). Coastal flooding, evacuate the coast! River flooding is tough. But your life is more important then your property/job/etc. If you hear your river may flood, evacuate. Heat... stay out of the sun as much as you can. If you work outdoors stay hydrated and take breaks In the shade.

We are weather enthusiasts here, of course we don't want deaths, but for the majority of us, we all root for the most extreme solution.

I think that anyone in this forum who has caused a storm that took a life should be banned.

Lol. This moral crap really has no place in this forum. Storms happen regardless of what we do, we just observe and admire them (and obsessively track them)
