Yea I want my March Blizzard. No but seriously we're due for a nice snow event for March. To me true spring isn't until April 1st while I know others think late February or March 1st is the start of Spring.

March 1st bring me the spring and i can say hello to winter again december 1st

No we need snow into March and April, I dont want an abrupt end, Bring on the blockbusters Blizzard of 1888, 1993, and April 1982, I love when people look in horror at the snow in spring while I am happy

Exactly let's get a nice historic storm to finish the winter off with a bang. Winter begins when the last freeze passes, not March 1st.

I am noticing some loss of snow depth of the cement like ice pack with these sunny 28 degree days. Sublimation rates increasing...  The LIRR runs on an elevated mound of earth on South Shore and the south side of mound gets 60-70 degree sun angle at this time has spotty snow cover and at places down to grass. North side is complete snow with hardly nothing sublimated. Sun declination is starting to get noticeable with shadow lengths.

Just want to give a shout out to the guys like yanksfan who are always doing the play by play. I swing by sometimes and follow along if there isn't much going on in the New England forum.

You do a good job, it's hard to be very detailed when your spitting out up to the minute info for people. You guys catch a lot of bull for no reason.

I think it's laughable that people have the audacity to complain about the Analysis, but won't do it themselves, or can't so it themselves. Truly inconsiderate and ridiculous.

I don't think anyone was complaining about yanks fan or earth light doing it. It's more of an issue when people who do not know how to do a proper play by play try and do it anyway.

Spring is coming early everyone. Once we lose that -EPO and the upper level wavelengths get shorter in 8 days, we will start to encounter warmer than average temperatures.

Sent from my HTC PH39100

It'll warm up but what you're saying basically indicates that the below normal temperatures and snow threats are done. Don, who has also been killing it with his analysis just like Earthlight indicated we'll be going through a moderation period but that there's potential even before March arrives.

People could always correct, or try to teach. Nobody wants to throw there hat into the ring because they are met with rude posts. When people who never post, come on and the only time they post is to discredit someone or complain, that isn't necessary IMO.

Just my thoughts, many probably won't share, but it is what it is.

I didn't feel like responding in the 2/9-10 thread because this is a more overarching topic. I find it absolutely amazing that there are people complaining that forecasts are not "exact enough". Models aren't perfect, as illustrated by the numerous late breaking storms this year. One of the things they are worst at is forecasting precipitation amounts. The idea that meteorologists should be any more exact than they can is silly, imho. The key is to be as honest with the audience as possible. If that means 1-3, fine. 2-3 fine. Or perhaps my favorite, "4-8, but we think 5 is the most likely". Nothing wrong with admitting that forecasts are prone to error.

My two cents.
