Hailstorm
He's a tool bag for other reasons too, but this isn't the forum for politics. Does anyone in here know why NYC mayors simply do not want to close schools most of the time no matter how dire a snowstorm or ice storm is? Does it have to do anything politically-motivated such as special interest groups (teacher unions)? I am quite baffled DeBlasio closed schools on the second day his term began during our first storm, but did not close schools again for the next two storms as they were very similar to the first one. That, in my opinion, clearly tells me that he only closed schools during the first storm as a PR stunt as any official would do when they first take office. Plus, MTA Transit had lots of delays and cancellations during all the storms, so one can't use the so-called "flawless subway system" argument. gravitylover
We used to hear that it was about the thousands of kids that get two meals a day. Breakfast and lunch at school. When there's no school those kids don't eat (well.) Does anyone in here know why NYC mayors simply do not want to close schools most of the time no matter how dire a snowstorm or ice storm is? Does it have to do anything politically-motivated such as special interest groups (teacher unions)? Kaner587
Its amazing how many people have up on the pattern. Mostly because the models didn't show each of these events as they ended up occurring. Isotherm and DonS (among others like earthlight) nailed this pattern. All ace does is look at his Kocin book, the following people you mentioned brought everyone to school and sent us home with a apple. Totally owned this pattern
