TWCCraig
Nowadays its about charisma and not actual weather knowledge. Its all scripted stuff to benefit there overall forecast to gain as many views. I mean when the news starts they give you this cliffhanger line for the weekend "will it be a winner or a washout, xxxx will be here with the details stay tuned" lol Exactly. It's a joke. Also the "mobile weather lab", don't even get me started on that lol.

At least he was taking credit for it on another forum from the Philly area. Social media and weather don't mix....everyone is a meteorologist lol. Saturn510
I find it pretty funny that the Euro , which always ruined our snow hopes in the past, is pretty snowy each of the next three storms. Then the GFS is doing what the Euro used to do to us. No no no lol

But I'm ok with that. Hoping for one more decent event and then I'll be ready for spring

Then the GFS is doing what the Euro used to do to us. No no no lol the reason the landscape has changed with the models is because of the programming adjustments made inside the models software for the GFS and the ECMWF the last couple of years http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/data-access/model-data/model-datasets/global-forcast-system-gfs http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/to-be-the-best-in-weather-forecasting-why-europe-is-beating-the-us/2013/03/08/429bfcd0-8806-11e2-9d71-f0feafdd1394_blog.html

Sn0waddict
I had some sleet followed by 11 snowflakes Sounds intense. Make sure to submit your 11 snowflake total to the NWS. Also, I like how it's "mild" for one day and people are starting to say that winter is over.

Rjay
I know some of you probably don't have a problem with Ace getting banned but I sure do. He might be negative a lot but that's because when he sees a pattern that isn't conducive for snowfall he states as such. The pattern depicted by the models isn't a good one right now for a all snow storm. Now for the Feb 8th threat, we have plenty of time for improvements but as modeled right now it looks pretty bad. We can't have these amped up lows with a -pna bc it will flood our area with warmer air without any blocking in place.

Ace always downplayed our December and January events this winter before they even arrived within 120 hours out. I suspect the same is true for our next three storms to an extent. To him, any pattern was never ideal, even during our epic '09-10 and '10-11 winters. Not to mention his personal insults.
doncat
January will finish up here with a mean temp of 25.9 degrees which is a -5.2 degree departure. It was the sixth coldest Jan and 9th coldest month overall during 37 years of record, along with 19 inches of snow... not many months have such an excellent combo. He loved some of the threats during our epic winters. We got really lucky with the 1/3 event with the blocking all of the sudden showing up on the models 72 hrs or so out. The 1/21 threat surprised us all. I haven't seen many personal attacks. I see people getting mad at his pessimism. This is a weather board and I find debate a much beyter read than everyone saying the same thing
