NEXtreme
Some people are actually posting comments on AccuWeather.com's blog pages saying that winter is over after next week. They said same thing 3 weeks ago before that record warmth lmao...no joke ! Anybody remember?

NorthShoreWx
Cuomo... that also includes i-84 and i-87 Sure, lets cripple transportation for snow that can be moved with a leaf blower. Someone tell that moron that last February has come and gone. If that is the kind of knee jerk reaction he takes for publicity, then he doesn't belong in office. goldalex
Does anyone with a brain think this will be remotely like last February? Likely not, but after the PR hit that everyone took last year, they don't want to risk it. It's a hassle but better safe than sorry and have people stuck in cars overnight. Roads are already a sheet of ice from the coating this morning. Going to get real dangerous later and people are morons and don't know how to drive in this weather. It should be their choice. Banning people from the LIE or any road when 10" of fluffy snow is forcasted is too much. These power drunk pols, Cuomo being one of them, don't know when to stop. Predictable reaction to the 'Blizzard Warning', which panics the public. Too bad there isn't a warning system better aligned with potential impact. Sander/salter has passed my house four times today (we are under 1") and was plowing nothing except sparks twice.
LongBeachSurfFreak
Fooooooooooor sure there will be insane coastal evacs when we have next tropical threat even if its run of the mill. Sandy was a 600 year storm feb last year more like a 200 (snow wise central Suffolk) both amazing events but reactions will change because of recent memorie
Syrmax
Does anyone with a brain think this will be remotely like last February? Anyone recall CT being shut down in March 2001 Yep, I lived in CT then. It was great driving a virtually abandoned I-95 from New Haven to New London, which was closed to truck traffic late afternoon. I was able to put the wipers on intermittent as the roads were just wet until well after dark, with no truck traffic and little snow. Everyone felt much safer. it was an embarrassment for most everyone in the State except the Pols, who have no shame. ~7" of snow here near syracuse and 7 degrees. My kid's school was open today. No sign of interstate closures. Cuomo must not have realized NY state extends past the Exit 24 toll booths in Albany on I-90.

mikemost
Don't know if any of you folks ever do this, or anything similar... But I find taking a step back from the models, forum, radar etc... and just listening to something as serene as this while watching the snow can be quite relaxing. I highly recommend it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGJoE-H0Raw Cheers.
