Yep exactly. If you don't have anything of value to add don't post. Read and learn from the people who know what they're talking about.

That should go for bashing the NWS 36 hours before an event starts as well. If you want Mets to post here, that needs to end yesterday.

So do I. I was sticking up for pbgfi who I think is a good poster. The site more than a few of us use just went nuts.

Yea, I know Paul, he's a good poster.  The thread is still way out of control with the terrible analysis.  PB was just relaying info he thought was accurate, not his fault.

I like how most of the people complaining aren't adding anything to the "discussion" in the model thread besides superstorm.

Exactly. I don't have the knowledge to read the maps or analyze the pattern, so I don't post. Many others should learn this.

Good point....I admittedly post about a model run when I can't fully read every part of it. I'm learning....but should probably limit what I post in the reading of it until I improve in doing so

This whole site is over the top uptight. Yes there are weenies and they get annoying at times. But in tonight's case one site had a big time glitch. Otherwise the thread wouldn't have been as bad. It would have been the normal amount of good mixed with bad.

Christ, everyone knows who the idiots are. Put them on ignore and stop responding to them.

No, thats ridiculous. If we want Mets and intelligent hobbyists to actually post here, we cant just ignore the plethora of sh*tty posts, because they wont.

I need to do what my username suggests really soon after reading those posts......my head hurts...its a model discussion thread not a complain about every panel and every post that states whats going on aloft thread. read more, post less!! some of you sound so childish arguing and whining over a model run. This is weather, not the Olympics, or your favorite football team in the Superbowl, or your fav baseball team in the world series, It's ONE model run, one snowstorm, in which we're still getting 6-10" with local 12" amounts followed by brutal cold. This is why we follow weather, right? To learn and analyze each storm and how models performed with each storm. and the love for weather, no matter how bad or good.

Do you complain when you have pocket aces in Texas Holdem, and you raise and get called by a guy with Q10 but he hit's trips on the flop? It's the way it works. It's called variance. These things happen, big storm, little storm, no storm. You move on to the next hand.

We've been spoiled so much the last few years weather wise, with Superstorm Sandy, to having a snowstorm 2 weeks later. Another hurricane and rare october storm the year before, The epicness of 2010 and now a decent 2013-14 winter thus far.

He shouldn't have been called out ..it was an honest mistake and he's been a good contributor (grammar/spelling aside lol). The rest of the criticism I agree with. Normally banter doesn't bother me but its very frustrating in the play by play model discussion threads.

I am mostly a lurker, but it is very frustrating what is going on in the model threads. There is entertaining discussion to lighten the mood and then there is useless babble. We have crossed the line from useless babble in to nonsense. This seems to happen every so often right before a big event but it is frustrating nonetheless when all you want to do is get the facts and see where we are heading. Earthlight has a tough job in this sub-forum. There is a fine line that must be walked, don't want to go back to the eastern days and some other boards where people ran away because of over moderation...Also, the whole concept of blocking is difficult too, I have several people on ignore but if I ignore everyone who here and there make useless comments there won't be anything to see anymore. Hopefully they activate scorched earth mode and this all gets cleared up.

Hope that everyone enjoys the storm, should be a fun one to track during it's evolution. Looking very dynamic and likely to surprise some people if the banding sets up in the right place.

This forum is terrible because it's filled with people who haven't a clue about anything.

The easiest way to fix this is to have a "Red Tag" and/or "Proven Poster" thread (donsutherland, Bluewave, Tombo, etc.) locked thread. That way we get to see what we come for.

I even make mistakes from trying and get burned, but that's how I learn. I don't troll, nor am I negative or wish casting, but I am wrong a bit.

Create that thread and a lot of this nonsense will be lost.

I golf and I go to watch the pros. Sometimes I watch a pro / am and it's clear who the amateurs are. It's always clear on this forum...

Absolutely.. Particularly in storm mode (what happened to storm mode btw?)..but during those times nobody else should be posting.

By the way anyone thinking this place is bad should see what the nymetroweather guys go through on fb. They volunteer their time answering questions and morons just bash them.

I think you can have all sorts of threads and people will behave the way they will. You cannot change a troll that wants attention or a wish caster or a negative nelly...

BUT, you can lock them out of threads by creating an exclusive one that is only for the best and the pros.

The vast majority of folks lurk waiting for Earthlight, DSnowX, SnowGoose, Forky, Bluewave, uncle w, isotherm, HM, donsutherland, etc.

Let them have a place to get what they've come for! Our weenie analyses can stay elsewhere and we will learn in multiple places.

Nice GFS run by the way... ;-)

I love this idea, an red tag and approved posters thread when the forum is in storm mode, and a model discussion banter thread for us regular folk that comes here in hoping to locate and read information quickly.

There seems to be a bunch of manchildren here who cry every time their model doesn't show 16'' of snow. I see it every model run, it's getting ridiculous. People need to grow up.

They just grasp at straws like calling convective feedback issues, or the H5 looks so good!!!! It's a joke... True weenie... And if u try and say what the model actually shows not what people wanna here they call u a negative poster...

When did a possible 8" snowfall with blizzard conditions become a letdown to some people? What do they want, a dangerous and paralyzingly 27" snowfall every time out? Just boggles my mind.

That's exactly what they want.. And if 1 model run shows it everything else after that is a let down, it's rediculas
