I'd be very cautious about this system. There's still a good deal of confusion and I'd lean on the low side for snowfall amounts for now. I really hope things improve though as we get closer rather than get worse, or even stay the course.

thats why on the main discussion thread I am keeping the description at Potential SECS with potential being the keyword right now - too far away to guarantee any one solution

I agree w Froky about the threads. Main discussion thread where everything can be discussed (including completed model runs) while the model pbp gets their own threads, so good posts dont get buried 2 pages deep in 10 minutes.

why I started a thread for 18z and user18 did one for 0z hopefully it gets used properly. don't want to see our prime posters get drowned in the weenie posts

one of the great things i love about this board is reading about the potential threats days in advance of when the general public would start to know. News/Weather on TV have not really mentioned the cold as extreme as some of the models are hinting. (12 for example on news 12) I am, for one, going to prepare and wrap my exterior spigot so it does not freeze and crack like it did in January 2009 when it reached a low of 1 IMBY. If this cold verifies like some of the models are hinting, many of us could be looking at beating the January 2009 lows.

They've been trending lower by the day but I think the storm is more pressing at the moment. But yes dropping to near or below zero is quite significant

If you're a prime poster, or dictating who might be, this board is in trouble.

Most follow and don't post and having one thread to read is easy.

It's not to hard to skip names and meaningless drivel to find Earthlight, Bluewave, donsutherland, etc.

It is a pain to go to the main board and figure out which of the 4 threads has the most recent info.

I respectfully disagree. I don't post much but find the separate threads much easier to follow. The model threads back on Eastern were awesome when it was a great model run.

Lol @ people talking about school closings and blizzard watches

I swear there should be an age verification on this site lol. I don't mind these kids posting but sometimes it drives me nuts to have to sift through the nonsense some of them post. One run of the Nogaps and all of a sudden blizzard watches MUST be posted at once!

Still in the BX in 94.. I remember driving up here with my folks to look at some properties in early April and couldn't believe the size of the snow piles that were still around.

My middle school overlooked the Hudson...still remember watching the ice float around that year, it was incredible.

convective feedback issues is quickly becoming one of the most overused, annoying and for the most out of context cliche's in modelology.

When the Euro shows the same type of outcome will it also have issues?

Almost as annoying as saying "next" and writing the storm off, only to participate in the threads after that point.

Already the top story on the 11:00 news. And so the media hype begins.

Well New Year is tomorrow night so i doubt people will be watching the newd then.. It's good to make people aware of the possibility, just my opinion..:)

Anyway, just hard to read the 00z model thread... So full of banter..:(
