Thats why i have my car and bowling to keep me sane. Where i live getting the brunt of bad weather outside of winter is a rarity in SW suffolk county so winter i hope to cash in on some great snows.

That's pretty much true of everywhere. Just remember, Penn State University Park is both the meteorology capital of the world *and* the home of the world's most boring weather. Somebody always has it worse. ;)

I heard ash has something like 2000000:1 ratios, will have to double check though.

Nah, the 850's are only progged at 450°C, so definite precip issues... May get a short front-end thump of ash, but the main part falls as solid rock. :(

In other news the glacier on my front yard has retreated significantly today. A few more days like today and I might finally begin to see grass again. Hoping that trend is short lived. Nothing like a solid ice pack to cool your refreshments on St Patty's Day.

I have a small pile of snow on the side of my house protected by the shade and that is it for me! WHERE IS MY WARM WEATHER!!

So when is Yellowstone going to erupt? Planning to have my body frozen so that I can come back and give the Euro PBP. Something like, "Hour 96, huge ash cloud from Seattle to Philly. Ash falling at 4-6" per hour, mega hit!"

Yellowstone erupts that should put the end to the global warming thing. maybe then we'll be looking to warm the world then

The crazy thing is it could happen anywhere from tomorrow to hundreds of thousands of years. That would be by far the worst disaster of human history. Other then an impact from a large 5 mile plus diameter asteroid or comet that's tops in my book. Another good one is the collapse of the volcano in the Azores or canarys I forget which one. All will eventually happen

You watch too many History Channel docudramas!

BTW, Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands is the most commonly cited volcano to cause the hypothetical East Coast megatsunami.

No way in hell that's a million year event

EF 1 probably has about the same odds as sandy

I personally believe that the prime area for tornadaic activity will continue to shift east over the next 50 years. If you look at climo the southwest appears to be getting progressively wetter. The climate is constantly changing.

I think we'll possibly see more tornadoes but an f5 hitting nyc would be like a blizzard in Beverly hills

Daylight saving time should be banned altogether, all it does is cause confusion among the time zones and it has little to no effect on saving energy costs.

Well for me personally I enjoy getting out of work and actually having sunlight, so daylights savings is great. Not being able to enjoy sunlight 5 days a week during the winter kind of sucks to say the least.
