snow.
Let's see how long LWX lets the eastern WSW's run if the temps keep heading up like this. I just dropped a degree....
Ian
I dunno my temp hasn't budged since the rain started, at 31.4. Was only at 30.9 at the "low" just after the first round ended. This was a pretty wicked high in the end. It moved in with the storm well too so it's not super simple to dislodge.

wxmeddler
FZRA too fast is just going to run off, it can't freeze fast enough. Those on the fringes (northern, where it's cold) will do the best in accumulations. Edit: .snow ninja'd my comment.
ecosense
31 in Glen Rock, PA 1/8" of freezing rain on top of 4" of snow.
Ian
Seemed this afternoon everyone was saying it was way colder than modeled and the models were going to bust high... now the opposite. Seemed the raw outputs were close or even cold on many models outside the megaband earlier. Though I was freezing my arse off watching snow slowly accumulate so I only had an occasional view. ACFD FIREMAN
I just dropped a degree....30 Yup....frz rain accumulating on everything here. Bust calls are premature.

joelhousman
Freezing rain is pouring here and sticking to everything. My sidewalk and driveway is an ice rink. Temp holding at 31.4, up from 30.8 about an hour ago.
nflwxman
.28 last hour. Double our daily total. Temp up to 30. If you are staying at 30, I think I should do fine here as well. How much have you creeped up?
09-10 analogy
My wife heard the thunder, but I didn't. There is a slight ice built up to be seen on some branches and power lines. Probably can be discerned only because there's a street lamp backlighting it from 20 feet away.
olafminesaw
I think that if we could get a pause in the precip for like in hour, sometime around midnight slush would have time to harden.
gymengineer
Yup....frz rain accumulating on everything here. Bust calls are premature. The comments in here are pretty funny. Just reading the last few pages of obs would indicate there's no uniform pattern in how temps are responding once the precip moves back in. Shoot up, hold steady, drop, slow rise, etc... There're obviously going to be micro-scale differences in how tenacious the cold is across the region.

Grothar of Herndon
30 and moderate FRZ Rain. Lot of run off, but still glazin' Temp has raise 2 degrees since moderate FRZ Rain started.
ravensrule
Yes, but it just seems fast. DCA and Baltimore are already at freezing or very close. Heavy rain at 31.9 degrees won't give you an ice storm. I am at 29.2, so still a while to go to get above freezing.

dmac
Slowly rising. Up from 30.0 to 30.4. nj2va, where are you in arlington? i'm not seeing real fzra accums in rosslyn right now. also, the ground stop at DCA must be over cause i keep thinking i've heard thunder when in fact its just an aircraft. silly wishcasting. ravensrule
I forgot to mention 29.2 and moderate freezing rain. The streets are slippery but not really dangerous. The sidewalks and driveway are a disaster.
