Mrs.J
Just measured 4 inches here in Spring Ridge (just outside Frederick, MD) That is good to see. Have not measured officially here, but was estimating between 3 1/2 to 4". As it started snowing just before 9 and it is going on 12 now, it is a little over a 1/2" an hour. PhineasC
LWX needs to get the word about heavy snow in the northern counties. Folks are getting stuck after heading out expecting an inch with some sleet later. 3-5 inches out there by 1230.

MN Transplant
Heavy sleet with large flakes mixing in. Thanks, that looks right based on radar. For the immediate DC metro, we are hoping that the sleet line is just north of Culpeper to Dale City-ish and that the slug of precip coming this way will stay as snow. nw baltimore wx
My neighbors were looking at me funny yesterday when I was out mowing the last of the leaves and leveling out the grass. I tried to explain that snow likes a fresh canvas but they didn't get it. But now with just around 2" that looks like 4", they get it. And RR, no D-jokes. It's too easy. Still hoping the returns out west make their way into MoCo though. Light snow continuing here in Derwood, but I can now see more of the street than I could before. HighStakes
LWX needs to get the word about heavy snow in the northern counties. Folks are getting stuck after heading out expecting an inch with some sleet later. 3-5 inches out there by 1230. This has turned out to be an all out snowstorm for many. This set up was a forecasting nightmare from the beginning. LWX will be playing catch up all day. I don't see how any of us in northern md get above freezing until mid morning tomorrow.
