snywx
Good news for the NW folks and those wanting a prolonged event, the radar out of KBGM has improved quite nicely over the past hour and continues to fill in. The heaviest banding looks to be setting up from KMMU south and eastward. Decent returns overhead yet its very very lgt snow..
NorthShoreWx
First flakes here at 8:30. Moderate snow with a coating at 8:40. Temp was around 30 over night but rose to 36 in the past hour. Dropped 2 degrees already since the snow started.

jdt
Decent returns overhead yet its very very lgt snow.. The radar does show signs of being a bit more expansive on the NW side but its also obvious the most intense band is setting up approximately from phi to nyc thus some subsidence will likely keep the intensity down once 30 or so miles to the NW of that line despite the strength of returns on radar. simpsonsbuff
Too many observation choices around KNYC clouds the image, haha.

Juliancolton
Interestingly, it's a pretty consistent light/moderate snow here despite very weak echoes
Juliancolton
Expecting only a dusting now based on this rate. Screwed again. Heh, look on the bright side... we're bound to double our combined total from the first two disturbances. I think the Mid-HV into NW CT is going to be straddling waves of moderate snow for the next several hours, with 2" still very much in the question. IsentropicLift
NAM has finally caved and shows the heaviest banding over I-95 and Long Island. We clear out by 3PM. Might even get a bit of sun late.

Yeah I can still see 1-3" in our region but this is def a concern

jdt
Its not even snowing now lol.. Barely flurries Snow is currently on the moderately light side here. It was a little more intense earlier when it began but with the main band intensify to my S&E I am also likely experiencing subsidence. For the most part this is what the models have being depicting thus not overly surprised. Looks like about 1.5" thus for for me. The 2-4" call here looks about right. 3-7" in the heavier band with a few 7"+ likely.
Stormlover74
Looks like every model settled in the .25-.35 range so the 3-5 seems fairly on track but not sure we'll see too many 4"+ readings unless you're under a heavy band for a while
IsentropicLift
12z NAM shows the 0.25"+ line all the way up to the Sullivan/Orange County border so hopefully nobody gets shafted too bad. NAM has virtually no accumulation SE of I-95 though so I'm not sure how accurate it's going to end up

IsentropicLift
It's wrong i have an inch already in Western Suffolk lol Yeah I think it's basing that on surface temps which are in the mid-30's out that way.

NorthShoreWx
0.5" as of 9:30. Snow started at 8:30. Current temp is 32. I estimate current snowfall rate now up to about 1"/hour, but that is just an estimate.
