Orange

Special Weather Statement in effect

WITH ABUNDANT LOW LEVEL MOISTURE ACROSS THE REGION AND TEMPERATURES DROPPING BELOW FREEZING THIS EVENING

ANY STANDING WATER WILL FREEZE LATER TONIGHT. THIS WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS

ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES

OVERPASSES

AND UNTREATED ROADS. SNOW WILL DEVELOP TUESDAY MORNING AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY. SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT

AND EASTERN LONG ISLAND. SLIGHTLY HIGHER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE IF SNOW BANDS DEVELOP

AND IF THAT OCCURS

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY WOULD BE NEEDED.

Parts of SE Kansas are reporting light snow.  Looks basically in line with model guidance of a few hundredths.  Although this area of lift isn't directly associated with the bands that might affect the city corridor tomorrow, I will be interested to see if/how it blossoms overnight.
