The next round is coming which looks to be the real deal. That model TWC showed had ZR most of the night in Roanoke.

RAP looks nasty as well. I'd like to see some nice ice accumulations as long as I can keep my power! I'll post updates periodically and photos if I can get some.

Plenty of precip headed for Boone I agree but also take note they are warming up. Now at 30. That will help negate the impact some versus them being in the upper 20s. Should continue to rise. Be careful tho if there is going to be an area to watch for damaging ice that is the area!

@AirNelson39

Okay. I'm just going by the airport reading. You may see a bit longer duration then locally.

I see several 2 hour delays for school tomorrow I wonder if Surry and Yadkin picked up any ice or are expecting some tonight.

I'm in Surry, not much at my house. little on trees just went out and noticed a glaze on my car in the last hour temp finally dropped to 32. been slightly above 32 all day. I live in southern Surry I'm sure northern parts of the county has much more than me. Around 1 pm today sleet had the road white in Mount Airy. I may get a decent glaze this evening?

Steady freezing rain and 30.2 degrees.  Key will be how long the cold hangs on.  Ice accumulating quickly though.

Buddy, not buying into accumulations for Tuesday yet... but definitely think we see some snow.  Let's get through tonight first..

So, I'm confused, Nelson. Are you in Boone or Hudson? I've been thinking you were reporting observations from Hudson all afternoon, and I've been surprised at the 3+ degree difference in temperature between Hickory and Hudson (if that's where you actually are).

I'm in Boone, I have Hudson in there because that's where my home is but my current residence is Boone.

How much ice do you have? It's all over the bushes, cars, railings etc here. Can't see the power lines and trees, though.

Lol I'll tell you one thing if I were to walk on my deck id prolly take a big ole spill. Weird tho just looked out and everything is drippy that's odd trees and power lines look ok right now everything else solid glaze.

Hey Disc looking at 0z nam do you feel like hours 36-39 if precip were to come down that hard and the 2m temps were right at our doorstep as shown we can overcome marginal temps for Tuesday? Do you see the atmosphere upstairs being any better or is it going to be about the same as today?

Appears to be pretty warm aloft and the soundings don't support snow at that time frame. I think we may change over to a wet snow by hour 42 once the upper levels cool.

Ended up with nothing in High Point - exactly what I was expecting. Just a raw, cold rain and drizzle event all day.

Where are you in High Point? I'm in the extreme north within a mile or so of the I40-I73 interchange and have had a glazing all day on the elevated branches. The temperature has been stuck at 32F.

I am in the NW area, near Skeet Club / Kendale. My temp hovered between 32 and 33 all day. Checked for some glazing several times and never had any. Just as well, I've never been a fan of ice. Bring on the snow!!

Wow, yeah, we're pretty close to one another. l guess that is the difference a few miles can make with these marginal events sometimes. No big deal, though, because you didn't miss much unless light freezing rain and scattered freezing drizzle that only freezes on elevated surfaces interests you, haha.
