I've given up trying to figure that plant out. It seems to grow no matter how cold it is.

I've also learned that the idea that you gotta get bulbs in by first frost or they won't do well is a load of hooey.

I have Inchelium Red and Chesnok Red in my garden now, and strangely enough only the Incheliums sprouted. The Chesnoks were nice, bug, healthy bulbs. I'm just hoping they poke through come spring.

Garlic needs cold weather to grow well, and some need extended periods of sub-freezing weather to get ideal bulb out in the next summer. It generally does better in colder climates than warmer ones. As for planting before first frost, whoever told you that have you some bad info. As long as you can work the ground and the ground doesn't freeze too much within a few weeks of planting, your garlic will do just fine.

Oh, right, the have to plant bulbs stuff was about flower bulbs, like tulips, etc. There are a lot of cheap bulbs on sale in fall, and those can be planted.

Its raining, the nyc thread sucks, and im stuck watching this atrocious Giants Skins game.

I hate you Andy. ;)

The game would be interesting if it meant the skins were getting a good draft pick. But they are not.

Still better than having to watch a ravens game

At least we're gaining 30 seconds of daylight per day now. We start gaining 1 minute+ in only 10 short days. And 2 minutes+ in a month.

I know Ian is pumped by that stat.

Hell yeah. It's already slightly noticeable in the evening. :)
