Matt, I pretty much agree, it looks like a colder than normal period that could be stormy but with a not so good storm track for us at least in terms of a big snowstorm. It probably has more mixed and ice potential than big snow potential.

Awesome winter.

Beats today for sure

In this region, you kinda have to tolerate some mixed events, especially if you're in the coastal plain. As zwyts once said a few years ago, DC would probably have a single digit snow average if it weren't for those messy, mixed events.

Mixed events suck, in my opinion.

Love this. Let's have some wolf packs running around rock creek park. Nothing like going for a stroll or run and having some wolves stalk you.

Well, they are native to basically the whole country. One of these days, humans will realize this isn't just a human world.

Today would have been a great day to do that, cool instead of torch.

Ive been teaching my youngest twins to skate this year and everytime the zamboni comes out at intermission I keep getting more interesting in driving one. It's like mowing the lawn with a tractor but exponentially cooler.

It felt ridiculous waking into the parking lot in the mid 70's holding hockey skates. What a stoopid first day of winter. At least I spent 2 hours on ice.

Son played hockey from 6-17 years old. I spent much time in rinks all over the eastern US. I had the opportunity to learn to clean the ice one year and dumb me turned it down...... :axe:

Turned it down? Wow. I woulda jumped in the thing, dropped the clutch, and pulled a hole shot all the way to 5mph.

I played from 8-12 but didn't take it serious enough. My old azz held onto some skating skills though. I still love to skate.

Yeah, that wasn't one of my brighter decisions. Another was getting on the ice to 'scrimmage' with 10-12 year old travel league 'kids' with only a helmet, skates and a stick.....took a month for the slash across my shin to heal.

WTF...who kidnapped me and took me to Florida for Christmas. My wife woke me up at 7 and said my weather station had to be busted because the outside temp was 70. Was just walking the dog and really did feel like Florida, kinda had that tropical soft pinkish sky and a nice breeze. Frozen daqaris during football later.
