snowfan
Folks, take a second and let something sink in. We are tracking two legit events AT THE SAME TIME. One is on our doorstep and the other close behind. Temps are in the low 30s/upper 20s as I type this. Maybe winter is finally back after a multi-year hiatus? And Wes just said we should stock up on bread and milk. FYP
Bob Chill
I'll have to watch it closer. The gefs members seem to like it. I'd like to see the Euro more for it. The euro has hinted at it but precip max is further east. So both globals have it but I think the euro may have the boundary further east or its not picking on the same weak ul support. I almost expect it to be there on the 0z run but still east. But closer....

But closer....It moved east last run tho did give us some precip yesterday. It would be cool to end up with more winter in a few days than we saw all winter the past two. mitchnick
you should read my forecasts yo As weird as it is these days to even have wintry weather in winter around here, we need to watch the potential for more by Tuesday. A fairly active moisture feed tries to keep on coming as cold air settles in to the region. That could be a recipe for at least some light snow (maybe rain) across the area. Under a scenario where that happens, highs are held in the 30s. Should it not come together and slide off to our east, highs closer to 40 probably. It’s perhaps 50/50 that we see even light precipitation for now, but there have been some hints at more than that. Confidence: Low-Medium http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/wp/2013/12/07/d-c-area-forecast-enjoy-today-because-sunday-brings-a-wintry-wallop/#comments hey, I was just funnin' witcha'
mitchnick
if you look at the way the cold air gets hung up and only bleeds east, it does make sense and open up the door to allow something to develop on the tail of the front so regardless of the Euro, I think the pattern with the strong SE ridge supports this as a viable solution

Joe Vanni
You can add the UKmet http://meteocentre.com/models/explorateur.php?lang=en&map=na&run=00&mod=ukmet&stn=PNMPR&comp=1&run2=00&mod2=ukmet&stn2=PNMPR&hh2=000&fixhh=1&hh=072 And the JMA as well! Haha. http://grib2.com/jma/CONUS_JMA_1000-500_SLPTHKPRP_72HR.gif Plus it seems that the UKmet was much drier during the 12z run.
