ROOSTA
http://simuawips.com/ It's not the Unidata AWIPS but does have some useful graphics. I'm still waiting for a true STORM threat. CT Rain
That area produces more often then not.... Shelton area over towards the 'bury's thru New Milford and Bridgewater Yup and they do particularly well in this kinda setup. An initially moist easterly flow rises a bit into W CT even as far south of Ridgfield and Trumbull plus they don't have up deal with stubborn dry air wedged in the ct river valley. dendrite
GFS keeps cloud top temps just cold enough to probably squeak out 2" or so. It's walking a damn fine line though. The weenie WU snow maps show nothing across New England. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad sign...lol.

CT Rain
Take a look at this isentropic plot with pressure advection shaded and isobars contoured on the 290K isentrope. This is valid 12z Monday from the 24 hour GFS. That batch of stronger warm advection/isentropic upglide develops overnight in upstate NY and slides east into CNE. The stuff that's producing the snow this morning in the mid atlantic (aided by the left entrance region of the jet streak over New England) slides out into the Atlantic underneath us. It's the stuff near Pittsburgh PA that will ooze northeast later today and tonight.
