Last winter was similar with a relatively dry December through January then we got rocked starting in February. There's no such thing as a season revealing itself early. 

I violently disagree to the point of shaking you for 5 straight minutes

 

Sometimes seasons follow a pattern..some yrs it wants to snow at any cause and some years its like pulling teeth.

I agree with you that seasons often follow patterns, but the predominate patterns have not historically been established during the first half of December.

I just posted the data from 3 recent, snowy seasons, and especially snowy Decembers, which entirely debunked this.

Right now it appears this frontal wave is a good possibility not just looking at the operational GFS.  The 12z ensemble individual members most have a hit on the coastal plain with snow, and SREF numbers are getting juicier for at least 1" of accumulation.  I think this week will be snowier than we originally thought and not because of the Dec 9th system.
