CoastalWx
I think ORH has a shot. Yeah true...they could as well. One thing is for sure, those 2m temps are not warming as fast as the GFS shows over the interior.

jamesnichols1989
SREFs look better for frontal wave, so does 18z GFS.
It's Always Sunny
Many times seasons reveal themselves early. We'll see It's mid Dec and we should be snowing. We'll see what happens Last winter was similar with a relatively dry December through January then we got rocked starting in February. There's no such thing as a season revealing itself early. I violently disagree to the point of shaking you for 5 straight minutes Sometimes seasons follow a pattern..some yrs it wants to snow at any cause and some years its like pulling teeth. I agree with you that seasons often follow patterns, but the predominate patterns have not historically been established during the first half of December. I just posted the data from 3 recent, snowy seasons, and especially snowy Decembers, which entirely debunked this.

jamesnichols1989
Right now it appears this frontal wave is a good possibility not just looking at the operational GFS. The 12z ensemble individual members most have a hit on the coastal plain with snow, and SREF numbers are getting juicier for at least 1" of accumulation. I think this week will be snowier than we originally thought and not because of the Dec 9th system.
