EasternUSWX
NAM looks pretty dry, not seeing warning criteria ice from this one here, but the low temperatures should make anything that does fall pretty messy on the roads / sidewalks. Nam sucks. Don't ever use it. RGEM way better and way icier.
EasternUSWX
Agree this has regionwide wwa written all over it!! Not a lot of precip. Up your way no. Warnings likely along PA/MD line for ice.

WmsptWx
Well after yesterday's small-scale debacle, public cynicism has returned to peak levels. Now I'm hoping for crippling ice.

paweather
Does anyone know EPAWA? I liked them on Facebook. Their forecast has more ice in DC than up in Gettysburg and Chambersburg. Interesting.
Santa Clause
My guess is regionwide wwa tmrw maybe a couple ice storm warnings down around I 81.
EasternUSWX
My guess is regionwide wwa tmrw maybe a couple ice storm warnings down around I 81. No would be winter storm warnings due to snow/sleet first. GFS is ugly for southern tier counties. .4"+ZR + for some and 2-4" snow.

MAG5035
WWAs in place! Looks like they've opted for a more frozen solution, with widespread 2-4" in the southern tier and really scaling back the ice threat. I'd take that in a heartbeat over what had been forecast ice-wise the last couple days.
Santa Clause
Yea, new NAM looks even better for snow further north too!

StormTotalSnow.png StormTotalIce.png Yeah, I think the fact that the precip is moving in faster than guidance had suggested is helping with that. Not sure I understand the ice graphic though...would still think there's a higher icing potential farther west than southeast?

AllWeather
I hope so. Watching that band in KY and WV nose its way north. Plus the radar is filling in south, so even if the strong band heads to I-80, there will still be some precip south of it. Looping and extrapolating over the past few hours it looks like the heavy band will be somewhere between Baltimore and the turnpike.
sauss06
good morning fella's. It has that classis look and feel outside, so lets do this! I'm not sure I understand the ice map? Why so far east?
AllWeather
The RAP via Twisterdata.com takes the heavy band that is currently in Kentucky and moves it through SW PA and eventually across the state from W to E. Current radar shows the band is actually about 50 miles south of what the RAP shows at the moment, so that could play into how it translates across into the Mid-Atlantic
