Bob Chill
Is anyone really that surprised at this stage? May be wrong with an earlier post about the best case already being modeled. Such a fun track.
DDweatherman
This is honestly what I was expecting. I love this set up, so I'm not super surprised, but we can all rejoice and hope it holds or gets even colder.
Huffwx
Not that we have a BIG SW VA audience, it seems like we get an initial burst that could be snow and sleet and once the h85 0c line moves north, we turn more into light freezing rain. For hours.

For hours. I was seeing that. Both the Euro and GFS are advertising a dry slot between CHO and ROA for the duration of the event. We still get over 0.6" frozen, but it's not the 1" that the I 81 guys are getting.

Better burst of sleet and maybe some snow as well. I think once it flips, it really slackens up.. which is better for ice accrual. I'd love to get a sleeting am and get the kids on a little sled ride or something.

Ian
most of the non rain precip is from the sunday/monday storm. well all of it in the DC/MD/VA area. the map may suck but i think it's new.

clskinsfan
Wow. The GFS is a massive ice storm out here after 4-5 inches of snow. Basically precip of some kind through Tuesday. Just Brutal.

ravensrule
The ice pellet map looks a bit shady I was concentrating on the snow, but yeah that is definitely off compared to what the run showed. Everything else seems reasonable though. If they get better maps like that i may actually cough up the cash.
WVclimo
The ice pellet map looks a bit shady I have serious doubts about the lack of freezing rain it shows MRB-HGR, but I hope its right. I'll take the snow and sleet over power outages.
