Toronto4
It's not even this storm. You win some you lose some, I can take that. For 7 years now everyone else has been getting fat on filet mignon. We've been eating snausages. And once in a while a bone gets thrown our way and we're supposed to get down on our knees and give praise. Oooh Feb 8, 2013. A foot of snow. Yeah, the scraps of a monster 3 foot New England blizzard. Toronto = ugly girl at the dance. No one will ever pick her. An injunction to young snow lovers in the city. Leave. You'll never find peace here. Ever. Good news is that the Raptors and Maple Leafs are poised to make the playoffs this spring. Maybe that will spur the Blue Jays to success this year. roardog
Blizzard and Toronto don't belong in the same sentence. Let alone April blizzard. I assumed you wouldn't be in Toronto in April, that was my point.

Toronto4
Is it going too far to hope that the snow from this storm is contaminate with AIDS and gets into the water supply? If it is, I don't care. Wouldn't be strange if the GFS and Euro held serve from their previous runs. I doubt it happens, but strange things have happened in the past in the weather model world. I suspect a sharp nw movement on the gfs at 12z and the euro may or may not move but it'll still be wrong.

It was helll bent on giving me an EPIC snow while the RGEM a major ICE. I got a major ICE event. EURO fail!

Best hope for snow in Toronto is a front-end thump of a few inches before it changes to rain.
Chicago WX
50/50 shot right now, I make one of my biggest meltdown posts of my weather board career (goes back to 1999 BTW). Eh, check that...no it'll be clearly number one.

Enjoy I'm 5 miles away from rain on the 12z RGEM. The model that is clearly leading the way. I don't think my concerns are unwarranted right now. But, we'll see. The only two good winters that were kind enough to the city were 07-08 and 08-09. The rest failed to amuse me and the disappointments continue through this year. F*ck winter and f*ck this city. Time to look for a new hobby, I've had enough of this bs. I guess everything in Toronto sucks. I grew up watching the leafs and nothing has changed. They finally made the playoffs last year (after years), but lost in the first round..its childs play. Its a blessing to even see an inch nowadays. And the NE gets a monster blizzard every f*cking winter. How great! Im out. Had enough of these lame @ss winters every year. April blizzards? When was the last time that happened. Dont get your hopes up. We've entered a snow drought, under a massive snow dome, that never lets up.
Snowstorms
Winter forecasts should be revised when their released next time. It only makes sense to go with the climatology and anomaly that has developed in recent years. If a Winter forecast says, "Above average snowfall expected for the GL's region" it should be rewritten as "Above average snowfall expected for the GL's region minus (-) Toronto". Keyword: Minus! I shouldn't have jog myself to happiness when I read "Above average snowfall expected for the GL's region", when in the end it never happens. No time to be optimistic! F*ck this! snowstormcanuck
Yikes, this thread sure got nasty. I still think 7" is within reach from this storm Only hope is that the depth of the arctic air mass pushes the frontal boundary further south than the hi-res models are progging. No evidence from surface plots to suggest that's happening. It's ooooover. If you get an inch of slop consider yourself lucky.

Once every 3 or 4 yrs. or so a memorable weather event happens here. We just had huge, once or twice a century, ice storm. That's not bad. Its like a wrenching blow, when areas around you are closing in on their seasonal averages, while we sit here sobbing out and wish casting for the next few flakes to fall. I'm tired of this crap and im sure every snow weenie in the GTA is too. Unless Toronto gets a monster 2 feet snowstorm, this winter will be remembered for the ice storm, no matter how much snow falls the rest of this winter. Thats never going to happen. Never ever! Guaranteed. We'll be lucky to get another 5" if this keeps up. Another putrid winter season just like every other winter in the last few years. Chicago gets another blizzard in less than a week, how amazing.
Sidewinder
KIND is gonna bust hard south if this trend continues. It still has time to pull more towards Chicago. However, a few winters do skew up the average like (07-08, 09-10, 11-12) because of their respective numbers relative to the norm. Its been a pretty sh!tty decade. Better than the 80s and 90s though. If you like snow, dont come to Toronto. We got nothing to offer.
