michsnowfreak
Josh, the LAF area data is sketchy, so I'll do it for Indianapolis. 12 years basically, without a 6.0"+ storm...Feb 1939 to January 1951. See....the same time period as Detroit, with the exception we had one two months earlier in November 1951...and in those 12 years we SQUEEZED in a 6.3" storm in 1944. What a trainwreck of a decade in this region.

ukrocks
You are in a bad spot. Tough to get good snows, but have to deal with cold temps. Worst climo™ You aren't kidding. But it's looking better now. Sounds like we're looking at 3-5 inches so I'll take it. I know big storms don't come around these parts often. If we lay some snow on the ground, we'll be looking at sub teen temperatures which is unreal.

Chicago WX
This weekend's storm is about enough to make me want to vomit. We just cannot catch a ****ing break around here anymore. I probably won't be on the boards for awhile after this weekend. Just ****ing sickening. Time to step off the ledge.
snowstormcanuck
Another winter another ass raping by mother nature. Massive positive departures in snowfall east, west, north, and south but here in good ole stink town we get only the spew that mother nature chooses to vomit out of her sore ridden mouth. I can't wait to leave on Monday. With any luck I'll never return. To all those getting snow...I hope you drown in it you miserable pieces of ****. blizzardof96
Where was that last minute NW jog on Thursday? Oh no, that would have meant more snow for me and therefore is against the laws of physics. ****ing **** models. This city never fails to disappoint. First there was the late Nov storm... kingston on east got burried with 6"+ and we got 1-2" of slop. Then the Dec storm happened with the LE band stalling just south of the 401. 10-12" downtown and 5" up here. Then came the graze job and now this. Waiting patiently for the release of the statement by the HPC that the nam is being disregarded.... It's over. Once the NW trend starts for the mega lows, they never come back. CLE doesn't even have a mention of rain for their southern areas, let alone along the coast. The consolation is that it's so far NW, it doesn't look like much rain will fall (probably under a quarter inch)

It's a powdery dry snow...no match for strong southerly winds and sun ahead of an advancing front.

Yeah, the scraps of a monster 3 foot New England blizzard. Toronto = ugly girl at the dance. No one will ever pick her. An injunction to young snow lovers in the city. Leave. It's the typical last minute nam muscle flex....it will probably start coming back southeast....not enough to help me, but could help you and places like Dayton. Ever. yesterday when the models started this tick nw I resolved myself to at least the expectation that we'd have a snow cover before the front moves in.... the nam solution would probably be a dusting at best. But I do think it's overdone with the nw move.
