sferic
Any chance that we here on some parts of Long Island change to frozen instead of all snow but not completely over to rain?
bkviking
Snow should break out in NYC by 1:00 PM... Snow began faster than modeled in VA & Maryland and they're doing quite well snow wise, so perhaps that's a harbinger of things upstream here if we can get snow started earlier than forecast. snywx
Up here for KSWF, the 12z NAM has backed off to .27 qpf from the 06z run that had .53 1-3" is the right call for now for our neck of the woods... Where we have to be concerned is the icing potential. Looks legit

earthlight
Looks like a classic 2-4" band setting up over Central & Southern NJ and drier air winning out over North NJ and NYC right now. HRRR looks dead on.
ADKweather27
The band NAM has over NYC this afternoon is setup appears to be setting up further south, near PHL area: agreed, that band will never make it to NYC going to slide south and east, philly and areas just to their south can get 4-8 inches of snow today
Allsnow
Wwa just issued here for two inches of snow and ice. Hopefully it happens

HRRR looks dead on. looks much more than that, I think philly easily sees 6 inches or more, especially just to the SE of the city. Report of 5-6 inches of snow in 3 hours just west of DC. SnoSki14
To those who may be envious or angry that south central nj may be the jackpot zone, remember it'll all get washed away by tomorrow. Also this is a WAA driven event so the band could get pushed further north as the 850s start to warm.

SnowGoose69
2/6/10 all over again. The RGEM has basically been dead on now 3 straight runs in a row,I joked last night how it was going 2/6/10 on us, its 12Z run today along with the GGEM seem to be the best models through 18Z with the snow in NJ...below is its 12Z run depiction valid through 18z...unfortunately it never gets the snow up here til 00Z...the RAP/HRRR are a bit more optimistic with something earlier...I think the snow will generally get into NYC by 21-22Z but it won't be terribly heavy thus holding with a coating-2 inches but I'll need to see some hints of bands into here if the 2 is gonna happen. jm1220
Going to side east from hereI doubt we get much from it. Models show it shifting east and leaving us with light stuff before we get overtaken by WAA. Sucks.
