I feel much the same, unless it's a fluffy, powdery, frigid snow.

I realize that many folks think we should be happy with anything that we get, but I can't subscribe to that.  I'm not happy with slop or changeovers to all rain after a quick thump.  It just doesn't do it for me.

To quote a great man associated with the greatest soccer club in history:

"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we...set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."

My expectations depend on where we are in the winter. In early December, I'm happy with 1-2". But later on I expect more.... some time this winter, I want a 6"+ storm. It's not too much to ask for.

^^^ This.^^^

I mean, seriously, we don't live in the friggin' deep south.  It's inexplicable that this region should endure multiple consecutive years of snow fail.

It is part of our climatology that we don't do well for stretches, but it's kind of ridiculous after a while.  I'm not happy about it, but it is what it is.  Luckily I can handle the disappointment, and the excitement is all that much sweeter when we get a nice hit.

I can understand that take on it.  I'll accept a piddling event early on, but not really be happy about it.
