Heh. Sheehan doesn't do long-range forecasting, he's a sports guy talk show host. But he is also a bit of a hobbyist like many of us, and spends more time looking at models than normal humans. Kornheiser knows that and puts him on every so often to jab him about the weather, I would guess that bit grew out of a query what the holidays might hold.

I always wanted to call in when I hear them talking weather with him, but then I remember that people that call into sports radio unsolicited are the same people fighting over Ipads at walmart on black friday, and I'd probably say something that would get me fired from the GangTM.

If you called in to banter with Sheehan over the weather, it would probably make Mr. Tony's year.

Never heard of him before, but guess my mom listens to Kornheiser's show a lot and she called me freaking out. I kindly reminded her of the Boxing day failure and the March bust, where even 12 hrs out the forecast wasn't correct, let alone 20 days out.

True I just feel like the Euro often goes from dr no to a day close in where it gives hope then it takes it back away. I guess we will see. Pretty much anything less than 2" is a fail in my book even in October.

I feel much the same, unless it's a fluffy, powdery, frigid snow.

I realize that many folks think we should be happy with anything that we get, but I can't subscribe to that.  I'm not happy with slop or changeovers to all rain after a quick thump.  It just doesn't do it for me.

To quote a great man associated with the greatest soccer club in history:

"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we...set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."

Sigh.... my mom just called me, so she listens to ESPN 980 and apparently there is a guy name Kevin Sheehan who does long range forecasting... and he predicted a white Christmas and a BIG storm January 3rd. SO obviously my mother calls me freaking out.

 x infinity

Hey, ya never know!  In August I pulled Dec. 7, 13 and 28 outta my crystal ball as snow days.

Looks like I might be 1 day off on the first prediction.

As crappy as all of 2013 has been, Murphy's Law should totally kick in for the Friday the 13th Birthday.

And the 28th??  If I hit that one, I'm buying a lottery tickets on New Years Day!!

2014 is gonna rock!  2013 cannot become the new normal. Ugh.

btw, Happy early birthday to the bambina! :santa:

^^^ This.^^^

I mean, seriously, we don't live in the friggin' deep south.  It's inexplicable that this region should endure multiple consecutive years of snow fail.
