If you'll remember we had a pretty good winter out here last year. Our friends to the east have suffered more than we have. You're not going to win any friends if you keep complaining. Total qpf .07...model shows massive snowstorm at hour 220 we all get excited... 87storms Posted December 3, 2013 Share Posted December 3, 2013 Tough to live in this area if you like snow...especially east of 81....we are just far enough north to think we have a chance and just far enough south to have it usually not work out...I'm trying not to let it wreck my mood but it's challenging because our window for really good snow is so small...I used to live in Hampton Roads so when I get really down I try to remember those days...it can always be worse i would never advise anyone to move here if they said having snow was a priority (unless you're talking western md and those parts). of course, not everyone has the luxury of moving to their destination of choice, but i think some people on this board would be happier if they could. boston, chicago, and denver are three major cities that come to mind as places where a snow lover would enjoy far more than here. i see our window for really good snow to be similar in length to our window of oppressive heat in the summer. almost every summer we get that 3-4 week stretch of excessive heat, maybe longer, but not by much. that's probably about how long our main target window is during the winter. we usually get a good month where we have some legitimately good opportunities. outside of that it's difficult.
