Logan11
The best looks a little southeast of here if you believe the NAM, but it still has a solid .5" in here. OVC and 34 now. NW CT hills, Berks, over to ORH hills may rip pretty hard around midnight tonight...RAP is hitting this area hard with the ML fronto.

Check out some of those parameters on the SPC SREF site. There are decent probs for 1-2"/hr snows right into BOS-BDL.

CT Rain
The NAM absolutely rips for a period of time around 6z. All snow for BDL lol. It's is quite a bit cooler than both the GFS and Euro so we'll see - nothing to get excited about yet.

TauntonBlizzard2013
NAM gvies you about an inch or maybe two in a 1-2 hour burst at the end. Man that's a pretty short window. Little margin for error

ORH_wxman
Man that's a pretty short window. Little margin for error Yep everything collapses SE pretty darn fast late tonight. The precip is fairly intense while its doing it though, so if you can catch the last 2 hours as snow, then pulling off an inch or more is possible. The areas further north that can flip to snow by 10pm or so will probably crack advisory amounts.
Logan11
Nestled between the Taconics and the Berkshire foothills. I was near there on a hike last Monday. Canaan, CT
CT Rain
that what i figured, damn Yeah I just pulled up the 6z GFS BUFKIT sounding for Canaan and it looks like SNPL to +SN. There's also a conditionally unstable layer near the snow growth zone (not quite a MAUL but theta-e does decrease with height) so that's a positive too. Logan11
I can imagine ..others towns along that route 7 corridor have similar challenges. CT Rain
Yep. I guess if it's conditionally unstable (and the atmosphere is saturated) by definition it is a MAUL. So yeah - we have that going for us. It will just be a race to get that cold in here. There's some sneaky warmth at 750-825mb that may ping away for a while. Could very well flip late and we just get flakes
Logan11
It seems to me the perennial snow champion for nw CT was Goshen. I remember all the snow that Ian used to get when he lived there on that ridge.

Look how the NAM cools 850s to the south coast in a burst of precip and then sort of stops the cooling on the next panel from like 06z to 09z? That tells me the lift is crucial to the flip to snow as well. It looks like this lift is best from near the nrn CT to BOS area and esp north of the pike. It wouldn't shock me if areas near ans south of the pike flip to snow and sleet as the heavier lift comes in and then rain...only to flip back again as it gradually gets colder. So, if we can good lift here, that may surprise some. I think this has a good signature from Will and Ray on north of getting advisory snows. Could even extend south of the NAM is right. Damage In Tolland
Euro bullish for a couple inches for most of SNE north of HFD-PVD and probably 3-4" for Berks/Monads/N ORH hills. For Scooter and Ryan

You could get 1-2" at the tail end if you're lucky but some of that could be sleet.

CT Rain
Even the cold NAM has issues for places outside the Litchfield Hills/Berkshires. Look at 700mb at 3z... still on the mild side even though 850mb temps are a bit cooler.
