moneypitmike
May as well begin a thread for the end of the week. Looks like we'll have an event at least.....of course, how it plays out is anyone's guess right now. I'm taking a night-time flight from PHL to BDL on Friday. Nothing better interrupt my ability to get home!!
Damage In Tolland
Looks like we may avoid that one really warm day now. Ginx may be right..In this pattern everything speeds up and now fropa is anytime from early Friday Am to afternoon

moneypitmike
Just close the shades until next weekend. Usually, there's a decent event brewing that's being tracked when I had to my semi-annual week-long sales meeting in IA. This might be the exception--at least until the end of the week. It's frustrating to not have much moisture on the cold side like in the last frontal passage. But perhaps this one will be different.

CoastalWx
For 40's? Nah..that's not shade closing worthy You will be in the 50s for at least one day, otherwise above normal and boring. Close them and take a sleeping pill. Pretty much AWT.

Pretty much AWT. Not at all. There were some on here calling for a very mild week . Instead it's 40-45 by day and near 30 at night.. until Friday spikes briefly and then more cold. Is it milder than it's been sure..is it a mild pattern when highs are normal...no.

It's mild and boring. Spin it all you want, but by Wednesday and beyond..sleeves partially to fully rolled up. 2-4" forecast FTL. Mild and boring FTW Hopefully the cold rain the euro op has for Friday will fulfill your needs.
Brian5671
Meh. Boring and milder this week. Back to the original program, already in progress from September....
Damage In Tolland
Back to the original program, already in progress from September.... Sometimes I wonder if you live in the northeast or some other area of the country. How does the cold ,wetter, pattern we've been in and are temporaily relaxing for 2-3 days resemble September at all..which was mild and dry? jamesnichols1989
EURO is colder for the weekend, brings some appreciable moisture as the front sags offshore and 850mb temps dive southward.
TauntonBlizzard2013
Decent snow event on the euro for majority of the area?
joey2002
I would describe this week as seasonal... Yeah, average high is 45 at BDL, and we should be around there for most of the week.
moneypitmike
Decent snow event on the euro for majority of the area? I think it's showing rain to a light event in GC--just rain elsewhere. But, keep the hope alive for a wave up on the cold side!! A ways to go before anything can be said with high confidence. 33.1/
moneypitmike
Hope continues for some type of wintry overrunning late Friday/early Sat. Not major, but I think a couple of inches are possible if we can get things to time right. A precursor to what may be a fun week next week. Damage In Tolland
Yeah it appears much of the interior..and maybe even to the coast wakes up to white ground by Saturday morning
Baroclinic Zone
Yeah it appears much of the interior..and maybe even to the coast wakes up to white ground by Saturday morning According to the Euro all of SNE is above 0c at 850mb and the front has just cleared the area. GFS slightly cooler but still does not look all that wintry right now except for maybe NSNE and CNE.

40/70 Benchmark
The dry wx this fall has blown.....solidly below normal Novi, yet all I've been able to muster a is T. We've had a couple cutters given the unfavorable arctic/Atlantic couplet; however the general dearth of precip has likely been the main culprit in our slow onset to the weenie season. moneypitmike
12z GFS looks pretty wet for this. Certainly the bulk of it does. But, there's more precipitation holding back until after the cooler air moves in than the event last week. so, perhaps a little bit on the back end for GC. ORH_wxman
Maybe a little bit of sleet/snow to end it on the GFS, but overall this system is not looking very wintry. Anything wintry from this I will consider a bonus.
