It is weirder having warmth in Dec than Feb. So much fighting it at this time of year.

I was sorta thinking anecdotally but the sun angle alone makes it feel weird. North facing spots stay damp and noticeably cooler on a day like this.. Clouds are hard to burn off if they are around. Even by Jan the sun angle is a little more favorable although it also is battling peak climo cold so a wash maybe. Could also be that many Febs since I have been here have seen a day near 70.

I sat outside for 45 minutes.  Biggest issue was the wind which kept it feeling cooler.  very windy.  The sun is also impotent.  I think I could sit directly in that sun for 72 hours unprotected with no ill effects.  occasionally when the wind died down it was brilliant outside.  I was in shorts and a t-shirt...tomorrow could be epic...+28?

Interesting observation and theory I have from last night and this morning. Guidance last night had a significant inversion last night (46-48) and it took until around 2pm to clear out and by that time 925 to 850 temps had already out run the low level temps and today's high was progged under somewhat of a cap. What's interesting about this is that with last nights temps staying warm with mixing, now we have much less time to mix out today. In fact, via my roof it looks like we went isothermal around 9:30am and have started mixing ever since. Given the early start today, I don't think it's unreasonable to say that 71-73 is possible today if there is good sunshine.

Verified.

72.1°F was the high on my station. Sat in the sun for an hour and had a cat nap. Perfect minus the brief chill of the wind.

300 W/m2 today at the peak, vs 1000 W/m2 on June 21st on a neighborhood solar radiation sensor.

Nam 4k gets us to like 61 tonight. A breeze off the river might ruin overnight low but we could do mid 70s with some sun I think.

nice +23.5 today...at around +1.3 for month.....after monday, I would guess around +2.8

Your call for Dec is going to be pretty good. It shows how even with a nice neg epo,  any relaxation of the eop leads to warmth as long as the ao stays strongly positive.  The ao relaxing probably will allow for a nice cold shot at the beginning of the year.
