powderfreak
Agree. Verbatim Monday is 4-8" for many in VT with no changeover north of RUT-LEB. You think that much? I was leaning more towards like 2-5". The forcing over VT is sort of split between the primary low to the west and the secondary in SE New England... we end up with a lighter WAA precipitation event, IMO. That's combined with D-2" Friday night per Euro. Forcing and synoptic dynamics are downright sh*tty after initial WAA thump which could be better than you'd expect with that surge of warmth coming northward, Probably more like 3-6". bobbutts
Hi guys, I'm back! Still house hunting. After some research and a few visits, we've decided to focus our attention on the Jackson, NH area. Any thoughts about how much snow this area gets? Seems like a decent spot - not VT, of course, but should be able to retain the snowpack quite well, at least? Where is a reliable source of yearly snowfall data? Thanks! I'd guess highly dependent on elevation and other local factors there. Wildcat's address is Jackson, and they claim 200"/yr and N. Conway I have seen listed around 100". Seems like a reasonable range, with habitable areas likely on the lower end.
powderfreak
I want this so bad. Check out the Vail snow board and web camera. The snow board rotates every 12 hours and starts fresh. This would be awesome. http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/fe5f86565c7411e3864b12d7daba2bdd_101.mp4

I found a video that goes over Mammoth Mountain's snow measuring practices and they have one helluva snow study area with tons of equipment. dryslot
Not putting much stock in Friday for NNE. Maybe CNE especially closer to the MA border. Monday is our turn. Could be a decent amount of snow and ice. Yeah, I think the front is already thru here before the cold air arrives late friday and shuts off the precip

Nittany88
Short-lived blocked flow event tonight for the Greens? Moisture cuts out quick Friday morning, but there's a small window with blocked flow and available moisture that could provide some good upslope enhancement (08-12z tonight) along the western slopes. Of course, will it be cold enough for any snow?

powderfreak
dendrite, on 05 Dec 2013 - 5:33 PM, said: 33.2F as the -RA/-DZ continues. I posted this in the banter thread, but classic CAD. It is a full on torch just west of the mountains. Its around 60 degrees right now out at Syracuse, NY... The best gradient though is in southern VT right now... it is 57F at DDH on the west side of the mountains, while VSF is mid-30s on the east side in the CT River Valley. Classic CAD. I just saw the 5:45pm weather on the local news and they were noting that you could be out in short sleeves west of the Greens, while winter jackets were needed east of the mountains, lol. I'm at 39F at home and MVL is 40F, so warming up but on the other side of the mountain its in the 50s.
