BTV Is calling it a bit of a bust here: .

NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
AS OF 445 AM EST SUNDAY...WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL CONTINUES ACROSS THE
NORTH COUNTRY THIS MORNING AS LOW PRESSURE CURRENTLY SOUTH OF LONG
ISLAND SHIFTS NORTHEAST OVER CAPE COD MID-DAY AND INTO THE GULF OF
MAINE THIS AFTERNOON. THIS SYSTEM HAS TURNED OUT TO BE A BIT MORE
COMPLEX THAN WE THOUGH YESTERDAY AS THE SURFACE LOW TRACK HAS BEEN
A BIT CLOSER TO THE COAST AND MORE NORTHERLY THAN MODELS FORECAST
BEFORE THE LATEST 00Z SUITE. THE STRONG 925-850MB JET OF 40-60KTS
THAT WE EXPECTED TO BE ACROSS SOUTHERN VERMONT HAS SHIFTED FURTHER
NORTH WITH IMPRESSIVE GAP WINDS UP TO 60 KTS NOTED ALL NIGHT ON
THE KCXX 0.5/1.5 DEGREE RADAR SLICES FROM BOLTON TO HUNTINGTON TO
BREADLOAF. THIS HAS AIDED IN MUCH MORE SHADOWING IN THE CHAMPLAIN
VALLEY WITH ONLY A FEW INCHES OF SNOW REPORTED AT KBTV SO FAR. ON
THE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GREEN MOUNTAIN SPINE...A FEW EARLY
PUBLIC REPORTS IDENTIFIED UP TO 10" HAD ALREADY FALLEN IN LUDLOW
VERMONT...AND 6" IN BARRE. ONLY A COUPLE OF REPORTS FROM NEW YORK
THUS FAR WITH 4-5" IN PARISHVILLE AND PLATTSBURGH. GIVEN THE
OVERNIGHT CONDITIONS...WE`LL LIKELY SEE A WIDE RANGE OF REPORTS
COME DAYBREAK WITH THE LEAST AMOUNTS IN THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY ON
THE VERMONT SIDE...AND ACROSS NORTHEAST VERMONT WHERE THE
SHADOWING WAS STRONGEST. IT`S NOT OVER YET THOUGH AS INDICATIONS
ARE THAT THE LOW LEVEL JET WILL SHUT OFF MID- MORNING AND WINDS
SHIFT TO THE NORTH WHICH WILL BE FAVORABLE FOR SNOW IN THE
CHAMPLAIN VALLEY AND UPSLOPE REGIONS OF NORTHERN NEW YORK AND
VERMONT...BEFORE TAPERING OFF THIS AFTERNOON. THUS...WARNINGS
REMAIN IN PLACE BUT WE MAY STRUGGLE TO HIT CRITERIA IN SOME PLACES
WHEN IT`S ALL SAID AND DONE.

Am getting what appears to be the last heavy band.  Pretty sure I am over 10 inches now, but will measure in a bit.  Don't know how the morning will evolve....it is supposed to be snowing all morning but looking at the radar, doesn't look like it.  Anyone know if there is an upper low to follow or something?  or are we mostly finished in s/cnh and sw me?

It's done. I said last night how the models had the dryslot coming through here around 12Z.

Event totals: 8.0” Snow/0.70” L.E.

There was a lot of discussion about the snow ratios with this storm, but thus far what has fallen here has been fairly synoptic-like in density – 8.9% H2O for the stack that fell overnight, very similar to the 8.5% found in the midnight analysis.  There’s been a nice shot of liquid so far, with 0.70” in the books and more snow falling.  Images of the overnight collection and the measurement blocks (getting somewhat buried now) on the J&E Productions Web Cam below:

Details from the 6:00 A.M. Waterbury observations:

New Snow: 5.3 inches

New Liquid: 0.47 inches

Snow/Water Ratio: 11.3

Snow Density: 8.9% H2O

Temperature: 13.8 F

Sky: Snow (1-7 mm flakes)

Snow at the stake: 11.0 inches

oh well...good first storm   were you awake for the grand finale?   heavy here but you got 35dbz i think, around 530 - 600...and i think optimistic gyx for the weekend, along with hpc....arctic front nearby and a bit south of us.

Yeah..was awake. Was nuts for about 20-30 minutes. There was some convective graupel mixed in too.

I'm worried about the weekend. ec ens are ugly. Hopefully we can pull something out of the hat for Tue.

I think we got shadowed by the Worcester Range...that's another 3000-3600ft spine on the east side of town. But even at the base of Mansfield at 1500ft it's not overly impressive, maybe 6.5" now. Maybe the 3000ft board got lit up though.

Understood. We'll the screw jet might be easing as we are getting a better snow rate now as opposed to pixie dust

Some GYX CWA totals. I threw my total in there as well and took the updates from only last night out.

The following are unofficial observations taken during the past 12

hours for the storm that has been affecting our region. Appreciation

is extended to Highway departments... cooperative observers... Skywarn

spotters and media for these reports. This summary is also available

on our home Page at weather.Gov/gray

10.0" on the nose here so far with 0.85" of water.

Woke up around 4am and flipped on the floods--was dumping then. Back to bed for a few hours and up for good now.

Light snow still falling and after spending all of yesterday in the single digits, we're all the way up to a balmy 19F.

Wow, still only 10F here about to go out and measure.
