Nice. I have been out in Howell the last 1.5 weeks for work at a client.

Great small town and, to be honest, I always assumed you got a lot more snow than you seem to. Lately anyways.

We tend to do better in NW flows. the LES will redevelop with the elevation increase over Livingston/Western Oakland/Washtenaw County glacial lobe.

You can see it quite well from this image.

Many times like today, the LES will become enhanced over my area when it appears to be dead just to my west or north.

That is about what I expected. I like that even with the minimal elevation gain, LES fires back up.

Growing up "down the slope" in Macomb (about 600 feet elevation), I was always jealous of the snow out in Clarkston/Waterford in the "hilly" communities around 1000 feet.

It is these LES events happening now that will nickle-and-dime your seasonal totals much higher than mine.

haven't been outside yet but sure looks like 3-4" fell overnight.  still 6-12" likely in many of the west flow areas by1 pm tomorrow.

I love APX humor:

ANOTHER DAY...SAME OLD STORY...AND THINK...THIS WILL GO ON FOR A FEW
MORE MONTHS YET AND REMEMBER WINTER HAS NOT OFFICIALLY EVEN STARTED
YET. SNOW AND COLD LOVERS REJOICE AS THE OVERALL PATTERN WITH
EASTERN PACIFIC RIDGING FORCING DOWNSTREAM TROUGHING ACROSS OUR NECK
OF THE WOODS CONTINUES FOR THE MOST PART THROUGH THE EXTENDED
FORECAST PERIOD (THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS ANYWAYS). THIS WILL CONTINUE TO
YIELD MORE LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS...AND ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS
FOR THE USUAL CULPRITS...

Temps in the -teens over northwest Iowa this morning.  That arctic air is gonna surge southeast in a hurry today.  Could be below zero around here by sunset.  Point here for tonight has been bumped from -9 to -7, as southerly winds look to kick in around midnight again, much like the other night.
