MarkO
Check out the northern and southern NE mesomaps. Easy to see where the valleys were able to hold onto the cold, even in western MA. http://www.weirsonline.com/mesomap.jpg http://www.pdfamily.com/weather/mesomap.htm
radarman
Solid 2.25 inches in Amherst. Cold air is bleeding down along the river now, and there's a very big difference (12+ degrees) between my house in Btown and Noho, Whately, etc.
moneypitmike
1.46" of rain so far. Peak wind gust 44 mph. Temp 51.6°F. Winds east of the track as progged. Temps started another quick decline here, losing .9* in 3 minutes. 39.9/39 1.28"
Ginx snewx
Propose a display in the lobby with current conditions and a Webcam with the station on the roof. People like looking at that kind of data (at least I do!). That could give marketing an angle to add it your Website. Technically, you can securely allow outbound traffic from your VLAN (unless it's physically separate) from the device and eventually push it out to WU but there's variables that would need to be considered if you did that. exactly my plan
Logan11
Pete was still around 32 at 6 AM...his glen held the cold obviously as it usually does. Steady rain almost done here. -SN has returned in Utica/Rome, NY. Winds east of the track as progged. Temps started another quick decline here, losing .9* in 3 minutes. 39.9/39 1.28"
leesun
That's amazing--more so when I consider that up here it's 40.8. What a drop-off! What is even more amazing is that BDL is still at 48. 16 degree temp diff in a very small area.

Baroclinic Zone
Gusting to 39kts at TAN. That's a solid obs from them. By comparison: Peak gust from Sandy was 41kts Peak gust from Irene was 42kts February Blizzard 44kts before the ASOS crapped out. Looks like I got a 41kt(46mph) gust in there today between 830 and 9am. 1.56" 63/59 torch!

HIPPYVALLEY
Solid 2.25 inches in Amherst. Cold air is bleeding down along the river now, and there's a very big difference (12+ degrees) between my house in Btown and Noho, Whately, etc. Wow, only about 1.5" here, big difference over about only 16-18 miles. Balmy 41F here now. -RA
HIPPYVALLEY
Virtually no wind here at all with this storm.... Overall this storm has underperformed the hype although there will still be some pretty big rain totals in places.
radarman
Wow, only about 1.5" here, big difference over about only 16-18 miles. Balmy 41F here now. -RA Yeah that gauge is now at 2.45" and looks like there's some more to come. Gauge in Belchertown about 15miles SE is only 1.9". The tipping buckets are more accurate in stratiform 'lighter' rains than in convective events where splashover is an issue, so it's probably pretty close instead of underdone as usual. Logan11
Soon enough probably. KSLK had five hours of rain/sleet mix and just flipped back to snow at 10 AM. Snow in PFland?
Brian5671
59 here. The big totals of rain on some models (3-4 inches) never materialized. 1.50 now with maybe another half inch when it's all said and done. I'll take it after the last 5 months of desert dry
Logan11
Based on nearby obs...liquid equivalent here was probably around 1 inch. HalloweenGale
60F here. The puddles have standing waves. Winds whipping pretty good too. Sustained in the upper 20's to low 30's. There was a 40 mph gust in there. The buildings down here have produced a nice funneling effect.
Collinsville
What is even more amazing is that BDL is still at 48. 16 degree temp diff in a very small area. Clinch Leatherwood
I was able to survive the severe thunderstorm warning. Sadly two pink flamingos did lose their legs. Pretty average big system here...random gusts to 50 or so.

Stash
Yeah, looks to be around an inch - maybe a little more by now before it changes back over and ends. I didn't get nearly as much ice as you (no need for me to pour hot water on my dish!), but stayed cold. We had -fzrn until about bedtime when the temp slowly creeped above 32. Was 34 when I woke up, and is probably a few degrees warmer than that here now in Albany. Based on nearby obs...liquid equivalent here was probably around 1 inch.
