That DPW statement sure is ominous.  :)

Just checked outside.  All snow in that coating, no ice--at least not yet.

24.1/22

I tried going down to the store to grab some milk for cereal since we're out..and rt 74 is closed. I was able to turn around and come back home..but one big sheet of ice..Several cars were off the road..including one smashed into a tree.

Why is it that Tolland can't survive any type of weather whatsoever?  That town is the municipal-weather equivalent of a Darwinian fail.  :)

What's your temp? You were barely below freezing.

BOX just issue and advisory? Seems a little late to the party.

Yeah--perhaps a little oopsy.

But, it does appear that CT temps are pretty much borderline, so the freezing should be shortlived.

It's colder up here but outside of a little overnight snow, we haven't had any icing.

They had a freezing drizzle fetish in the AFDs last night. Doesn't look like FZDZ to me.

31.8. If there had been any residual salt down it wouldn't have been bad , but being below freezing since Late Wed nite and no salt the roads were ice cold

Looked like the lower spots were a little colder. You furnace with a s wind quicker than they do.

Anyways, this whole thing shouldn't have been a big surprise. Very cold ground, temps below 30, and a mix of QPF is a bad recipe.

Here's one of those poor souls I must have seen off the road

Remember that convo we had 2 weeks ago when that guy died in a fatal on 84 between 67-68 about all the accident s there..

Guess what

Folks, there is a an accident on I-84 westbound. All lanes closed right now between exits 67 and 68. You can get on though via 67
