E PA/NJ/DE/Okle: Banter/Non Storm OBS thread

Recommended Posts

GFS long range is glacial, what a weenie run. Gulf opening up like weather world predicted is really going to make things interesting in February

Not feeling the Wed storm except S&E of philly still has a chance

I'd rather have it a little south...always tends to trend north but too far east may be a problem.

Very light snow just started here in Worcester, PA.

I have seen over 10 homes seriously damaged from broken pipes in the past 2 weeks. Almost all had thermostats set back to 55 degrees. That is not enough for a home with unheated attics or unheated garages. (Especially when the builder puts the pipes in an outside wall.) Most of the people were away and trying to save oil/gas.

I had to haul water into the Beech Mountain Lakes community in Hazleton back on January 13th due to that same problem. There were many "snowbird" houses that had pipes that burst, and the all the leaks put a serious strain on their water system.

If guidance is to be believed, there could actually be some rain showers around Philly today...

My encrusted fleet of vehicles would welcome each drop. Rigging a wash station in one of our shipping docks this morning, with temps above freezing its perfect timing. It's become rather disgusting on the roads, would love to be in the washer fluid business or coin operated car wash.

Feels like some adjustment of expectations going forward :o. Going through the stages today, lol.

yeah that is just regurgitated model output, we may indeed sneak a cutter in there after the bowl but i believe by the time presidents day weekend is over we at least get our normal february snowfall and have high odds being above normal

I agree with this, particularly the bolded.

Briefly got up to 40 today in Spring Mount, PA - but temp at 2 PM is back down to 32 and dropping rather quickly.

Most models came west with the Wednesday storm except for the GFS. 15z SREF brings precip to TTN.

They are such a tease for south eastern PA.  I'll wait for the  00Z before I completely give up on this one, but either way, it's very little precip even if it does budge west.  It's a shame since it looks like such a nice storm, but it will be nice for the mid atlantic/south to get a nice snowfall (at least if you are an extreme weather lover).

It's down to 28.9 here now, coming from a nice morning.
