Wednesday Soaker Discussing

CT Rain

Recommended Posts

Phil had a very interesting discussion with our work insurance company about max winds in hurricanes and their impacts in SNE. Tomorrow I will scan the building code map they provided. Has work at 115,sustained while the Cape is 105.I tried explaining the flaws in their map. Lol they were clueless. But the recommendations they want done to our roofs are 1/2 million dollar impacts so it is a big deal, all based on the new hurricane maps.

shoot me an image via PM if you can / are allowed to share.

The ground is solid concrete, run off city. Hydrologists nightmare, have to use some questionable coefficients this time of year. First time I have seen my local river frozen solid, so damn low it froze

There was ice forming on the edges of the Ct River up around Turners Falls/Gill this morning. Not sure I've seen that this early.

Green River near my house is low so it had a many ice patches forming.

Damaging wind in Tolland on the Euro. Looks like 10m winds reach about 15 knots sustained midday Wednesday! Prepare for outages!!!!

Thu looks like the windier day on the Euro at least for me, 10 mph shy of yesterday's wind event though..  Wed is all about the rain.

BTV's forecast map... this will be an interesting one for "storm totals."  They have an Advisory for 1-4" of wet snow tomorrow night prior to the change-over, then the round of upslope on Wednesday night with another round of light/mod accums.

This is one of those storms where you get 2" front end, lose it all in flooding rains, then get another 3" on the backside but end up with a "storm total" of 5".

I could see a situation where you get a rouge 0.25" snow shower to whiten the elevated deck and roof top but doesn't stick to the water-logged grass or pavement...and then bump those posts, lol.

Bumping posts over a coating of snow would be pretty sad.

There's a lot more to discuss than arguing over a couple tenths of an inch of snow.
